Question, Key getting hot

well this morning drive to work key was room temp my guess.

but im still hitting the dealer to double check.

who has their car parked outside in a hot day or semi hot day and can check or has checked. like i said earlier mines parked out in the sun for the day so im guessing the heat is warming the components in the ignition. who the hell knows, my other car i didnt notice crap and my tc im treating like fine china haha

yea... i have a 04 corolla... the metal part of the key is hot... the tC's key is warm... not as hot as the corolla's

the test. parked my car in a semi shaded area key came out just a tad warm. soo i guess its where i parked.

My key usually heats up pretty good.... I figure it's just the steering column or some other moving part. Now, if it were burning hot, I'd go straight to the dealer.

My key is often warm if I drove it for awhile, I think its normal. My previous car (a Civic) did the same thing. As long as its not red hot, I wouldn't worry about it.
