Default Question for Scion DEALERS

I took delivery of my car (off the lot) 4/6/2005
I ordered a nice long list of parts that evening. Part orders were placed on Friday, 4/8/2005. On 4/11/2005 (Monday) I dropped my car off at night and picked it up 4/12/2005 (Tuesday) to have a bunch of the parts installed.

To date, 19 days after delivery, 17 days after part orders were placed, I have still not recieved a phone call that my:
-TRD Springs
-TRD Rear Sway bar
-TRD Quickshifter
-XM Radio
is in. I called last Monday to check and he said it would take 1-2 weeks from ordering (which would have been last friday).

Does this all sound reasonable? Are all dealers experiencing this?

The reason why its taking so long is becuase of the merge of TRD and Toyota, you just need patience. I ordered springs 3/11 and just got them 4/21. If you buy Scion Acc, they will be there within a week.

Yes, I don't mind being patient if there is a reason to be.

My understanding of the merge was that is delayed orders of mid-march to late-march and that now they should be caught up.

Is that inaccurate?

I bought my TC from a co-worker shortly before changing from a Toyota sales consultant to Scion sales and finance. My parts were ordered 4/12, I too am awaiting several parts including rear sway bar, frnt strut bar, tyc lights, etc... TRD parts do take longer, and the tyc lights are brand new so I'm trying to be patient. Growing agitated though, but I work here and still can't do anything to speed the process!

The only extra I ordered was the Scion Security and it was there the next day - installed two days after that (earliest time). Can't complain.

One of my concerns is my "we owe" sheet is only valid for 30 days. It has now been 21 days. I recognize I likely won't get screwed.. but it certainly makes me uneasy and that is sort of what the scion buying process is supposed to be the antithesis of.

Your right DelMarVa, it is suposed to be a smooth process all the way past when you take your car home. Other than keeping the cars people want in stock, this is a big pain I'm dealing with at my dealership. Although, most do get thier acc. in a matter of days, I wish I had some words of encouragement for ya!

I had a similar experience which I posted about a few weeks ago. As it turns out, the parts were in but the dealer didn't let me know.

Here is my advice. Either:

a) insist that the dealer have ALL the accessories in their parts department before you take delivery (i.e. pay), or
b) when the car arrives, see what they do have on hand and only pay for those. Then ask them to order the other parts, and when they've all arrived, take your car in.

The idea is that the dealer won't care as much about you once they have your money but haven't performed the actual service (buying the part and installing it); you want to force their hand.
