Default Quick TC Question: Maintence Rqd Light

Today my maintenence required light lit up and blinked for a few seconds then shut off. According to the handbook, if the light comes on, it means I need an oil change. I just had one done about 3 weeks ago, so I know the oil is good. It is a pretty hot day out ( 95°F), could that be a factor?

Also, my air filter seems a little dirty. Could that warrant the light coming on? I bought a new one online, it just hasnt gotten to me yet.

Any ideas?

clean your air filter, use the search option, make sure you can see your odometer, turn the car off, hold the trip meter, turn the car on and hold it down until the odometer stops flashing.

Did you get the maint. done at the dealership? If so, they forgot to reset it. If not, then you have to reset it yourself. Its not hard at all. Just do what pollup said to do.

Yeah, if you changed the oil yourself, you're going to have to reset that light reminder yourself as well.

Please at least attempt a search...

Heat is not a factor, air filter is not a factor... mileage is a factor. It's set to start flashing before you reach 5000 miles since it was last reset. It will stay one solid at 5000 miles since it was last reset. There are zero other factors other than the mileage. You can even change it to use different mileage intervals (3000, 4000, etc).

Since this has been covered and could have been answered in a search... locked.
