Default rain water leak???

today i got in the car to go to work, and the windshield, roof and hatchback glass were covered with a thick layer of dew, on the inside. Now since the temp was about 38 deg, of coarse it instantly turned to ice when i tried to wipe it off.

all windows and doors were completely closed. it had rained quite heavily the day before, but it has in the past also, with no similar moisture collecting on the inside glass. is it from a leak and the water evaporating into condensation then collecting on the inside glass?

It would appear to me that there is a leak somewhere, otherwise where would the moisture have come from??

does anyone have any clue as to where i should start looking? or what else may have caused this?

08 tC, 4100 miles.

Did you leave something wet in the car or track some snow into it. If that is the case when the water/snow evaporates it will be stuck in your car. If not then take it to a dealer and let them figure it out.

thats so weird that you would say that today. The same thing happened to me when I came out to go to work today. There was a thick layer of ice on the windshield so I hit the wipers and nothing. Then I was like WTF its on the inside. I had to go inside and get a rag soaked in hot water so I could see enough to drive. I have never had that happen before in any other car and can't say that I'm thrilled being a brand new car.

nothing at all wet left in the car. i would like to try and avoid going to the dealer, they will tear it up and it will never be the same. when i get off, i will do a thorough search for any wet areas, maybe i can figure out where it may be coming from.

same here, never had anything like this happen before, especially in a brand new car, maybe a little fog, but not the amount of water that was on the glass today. so much that you could see the streaks on the back glass where the water droplets ran down from being so large.

Got the same issue. First thought it was heater core leaking, but no sign of lower coolant nor sweet smell normally found. Carpets are dry, no leaks anywhere I can find. Car was purchased new in AZ stayed there for 3 years and moved to NJ. Ice is only forming on front windshield and slightly on side front doors, but no where else.
its an 05 only has 10,000 miles driven very lightly no abuse. I am lost at what is going on, is there some sort of venting pipe that could be allowing evening moisture into the car? Any idea would be great.
