Default Ran the 1/4mile tonight..

My first time taking the TC there. My first pass was 15.82@86.33. My second pass was:

60 - 2.303 (some wheel spin off the line)
330 - 6.569
1/8 - 10.125
mph - 69.32
1000 - 13.180
1/4 - 15.78
mph - 86.43

I've got about 5k miles on it, 18" Enkei's, its a 5spd, with a custom sub enclosure in the spare tire area. I think it will do 15.5 with a better 60ft.. but probably not too much better. No performance mods on it.. all stock.

Good times for stick and with 18's.

I'm sure the tC is low 15's with the 5spd with a normal i/h/e job *and* a better reaction

That's a pretty solid time. This just goes to show what kind of cars these tCs are. Thing about the decired Civics. There are the Si CRXs of the late 80s and early 90s. There are also the EG hatches and a bunch more. Did any of them turn high to what would be mid-15s with good traction right out of the box? Go Scion.

Rection times have nothing to do with ETs. The clock doesn't start ticking until your front tires break the beam so you could sit there all day and if the starter doesn't kick you off the track first the timer won't start running until you break those beams.

reaction time doesn't affect your 1/4 time. the time doesn't start till you cross the the sensor to activate the clock.

Not sure about your tracks...but the ones I go to, the clock starts as soon as the tree hits green...

what tracks do you go to? all the tracks i've been at are all the same. the time doesn't start until your car moves forward. i saw a vette and a stang line up and the lights turned green and the mustang took off and finished his run but the vette stayed there and his time didn't start. he didn't go cuz his car wasn't fully warmed up yet. so he stayed there for like 2 minutes then he took off and beat the stangs time by .4 seconds.

The R/T is mostly for competition racing. Not for anything else.

If you have a good reaction time, it doesnt really mean jack ____, unless your on the street or race pro. The clock starts when your tire leaves at every track.

Yea the R/T really dosnt mean a whole lot like everyone else was saying. I took my tc down to the track where im at and had a 2.2 R/T and had a horrible run of 17.2 yes, before anyone says anything it is a 5 speed and i shifted way to early into 3-4 (4grand) and only had a chance for one run that night and as well just learned how to drive a stick a month beforehand.

Tip - GO When you see the last YELLOW

That should improve reaction times a TON.

Once you master that, then you can try squeezing the tree.. and try "guessing" when the last yellow will go out and turn green...

My avg R/T is .525 on a .500 (.500 is perfect) Sportsman Tree, its even better on a Pro Tree .400 (.400 is perfect) gives me less time to think about what I'm doing.

There plenty of practice trees online.

reaction time does matter if your running bracket racing because the timer starts on green. however if you run "heads up" style (can't remember wut it's called exactly) then the clock doesn't start til you leave the line.
