Default reality of the sc upgrade

ok, so im really new t the tuner aspect, owning a tercel before my tc..... what upgrades or modifications to my tc will need to be made in order to house a SC? i know the ones sold with it will already have the appropriate modifications, but realistically... is scion going to over these tuning modifications with the purchase of the supercharger or are we left out in the dark with a "oh well"

when you buy a SC you need to buy a kit, unless you find it somewhere not like that, but if you walked into a dealer and told them you wanted the TRD supercharger put on your car they'd do all the proper modifications you'd need done like an intake that fits onto the intake manifold on the SC etc.

I'm really, really hoping they're going to offer a high-end SC combo for some nice power, but TRD is saying 200hp at the wheels, a 60HP increase from stock, and about 236 crank HP

the supercharger option is not a factory installed option, its technically an aftermarket accessory like every other part (except side airbags!). SO, when you order it from the dealership the setup will come with everything it needs to run properly

200HP at the wheels?! I thought it was at the crank. That'd be shweet, and I'd most likely get one when they come out.

aftercooler = intercooler? or similar?

I didnt think a SC needed a cooler because it wasnt exhaust driven.

An intercooler removes the heat created when compressing the intake air. The colder the air, the more you can cram in...

A turbo is turned by the exhaust gases, but they don't feed into the intake or cause the heat that an IC removes. It's the same as an SC, heat comes from compressing the air.

You just have to be careful with your IC piping, you can cause some lag there...

yes, it can cause lag...
aftercooler is same as intercooler, both r pulling in air
just have to fabricate the piping, seein as how it doesn't come with one....
