Default Rear Hatch Clunk GONE!!!!!!

Hey guys I just got my car back from LONGO. Thanks to Gaberil and Brain they took care of me and fixed my rear hatch Clunking noise. They said a TSB has been Issued for the car, and said that the shocks on the hatch are faulty. Here is the TSB number Anyways that was on my paper work.

I think this is going on with my car, but I am not positive... if I go over a speed bump and everything is fine until my rear wheels just clear the bumb and the there is a loud clunk from behind... this is the problem?

its in the rear right side of the car. It almost sounds like its the Hatch. I hear it in diffrent conditions mostly when going over bumps on the freeway or something doing 40 50+. Its not a rattle its a loud clunking noise almost like sounding the hatch is open. So I hope that answers ur questions if not let me know......

Maybe I should tell the guys at Bobby Rahal this TSB #...

I took mine over and they claimed it was my license plate holder....no sooner did I pull out of the parking lot and I heard it again...____es me off I was w/out a car all day and it's a pain in my ___ to get my car to and from the dealership because I need people to pick me up.

But I gotta call again here after the holiday....thanks.

Thanks for the info and TSB. I have either the clunk or rattle from my right rear side of the tC. Did you only have this problem when going over 40MPH? I have mine at almost any speed. And did you have the problem EVERY time going over a bump and was it better/worse sometimes??

Least we got the TSB. I am taking mine in July 12th for this one and the AC TSB. Can't hurt and it is free. If it still clunks/rattles, I am in the same boat as before. But hopefully this will fix it. This one is strange as it doesn't also happen. Just when you think it is fixed, the rattle comes back!!!

Default Tc rattle in right rear fixed

Mine had the clunk too. Dealer said it was a normal noise but did not look hard for it. It was the rubber bump stops. There are bump stops on the hatch and on the body on both sides. They may be adjustable, I did not loosend the holding bolts. I just got some foam weather stripping with adhesive on one side and put it on the lower stops so that when the hatch is closed the foam is compressed. Noise gone.
