Rear Seat room in tC?
Just curious about the amount of room and comfort level about the rear seat in the tC. Ive read the specs. and they are comparable to that of the other compact coupes, BMW 3-series coupe, RSX, and Celica, but I'm curious to how the seat will hold up in real life.
I drive a 98 Corolla and am definitely taking a look into this coupe, but besides the fact of having to drive it, I hope the interior is seriously larger than that of my Corolla and the Celica. Having to seat in the back seat (lil bro driving) it really sucks in the backseat of my corolla and sitting in my buddy's Celica is even worse... So has anybody ever sat in the back seat of the tC and how does it compare to the aforementioned cars? To let you guys know I'm about 5'5-5'6 and about 160 lbs. Thanks!

I think it's pretty safe to say that the back seat is going to be about the same as a Celica, maybe a bit more ... it's a coupe... designed to look sporty not rear seat people friendly... if you want more space than a corolla, you need 4 doors and big .. say xB or a Toyota Camry ...

I was hoping that the answer wouldn't be as big as the Celica or a little bigger. :? I had high hopes for the space in the rear seat as one of the features on the tC wrote LOTS of leg room. I'm looking for something sporty yet also functional.
I'll still give the tC a look as the other cars I was looking at so far are okay (the Altima, numerous recalls, Mazda 6, Mazda has alright reliability record), so when I saw the tC I became really excited. Thanks for the replies though.

I've looked at the specs of the tC and I'm sure it will have a good amount of room in the back considering its a coupe. One interesting spec is that it has more leg room than an is300. However, in all the comparisons I have done, the tC usually trails in hip and shoulder room. I'm speculating, it may fit 4 comfortably, but not 5. We'll have to see when it comes out.
Here's a thread which talks about the interior specs: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6791

My Dad works for Toyota Corp. and he was in a tC last week for evaluating the sunroof. I guess it makes a lot of noise when its open and the windows are up, which is no surprise.
Anyways, he said the back seat was pretty damn big Lots of leg room to fit 4 large adults.
