Default Removing Plate Tags

hi guys.

i just got a really cool license plate frame, but the one thing that sucks about it is that it covers up my two plate tags (the expiration stickers.) so i was wondering what would be the best way to remove those 2 tags and stick them somewhere else?

or could i just go to the dmv and ask them to do it for me or ask them to give me replacements?

thanks.

Once they're on, they're on. They are created so that they are near impossible to remove w/out damaging them. I doubt your DMV will do it for you. You could go to DMV and ask them for new plates and tags.

darn!!!

i also read on the oregon dmv website that stickers are only allowed to be placed in designated spots. but even if i do get them to transferred into another spot (which they won't cuz it's probably too much work), i don't think i'll get pulled over. right now, the month and year sticker is 3/4 covered. but i really like my license plate frame.

dammit oregon! why are your stickers located on the bottom??

I wouldn't worry about it.......as long as they are not expiredand the tag is showing somewhat you should be fine.

i could, but then i would have to spend all that time removing the old tags and then waiting for new tags to arrive. i guess i'm just gonna sell the frame. too much of a hassle to remove it. it's the SCION chrome license plate frame if anybody wants it for $25 shipped overnight.

Id say just call them up and see if you can buy a duplicate. Im not sure how it works in oregon but it might not be a problem. Also worst cas scenario you report the plate stolen. It wouldnt be free but youd get a new plate and sticker.

or...

if someone could help me find a license plate frame that looks like this but in CHROME

notice where the gaps are in the bottom of the frame. that is where my tags/stickers are and it is the exact way i want it.

mine looks like this: no gap in bottom of frame. this is where it covers the sticker.

thanks!

hehe yeah it can be confusing-- You just order them through the Parts department of your Scion dealership-- unless of course they already have them in stock then you just buy it there But only dealers can order the parts through this site =)

Most stickers like this are tamper proof. In other words it is made to tear when trying to remove or "void" will magically appear when trying to pul it off.

The expiration stickers in MD are placed on the top corners so I'm assuming it wouldn't cover it.

Thanks 7thgear.

hope you like the license plate frame. i know i did, even though it was brief. the frame won't cover up your tags if it's placed on top.

btw, is there a chrome version of this EXACT frame instead of the metal? thanks

optomizescion.com has one but not that style though. if not, i'll just get the metal.

The brushed aluminum is way better than chrome IMHO. (Unless you have chrome wheels on your tC.)
