Default Retarded question about the dipstick.

Ok..so I'm a ReRe this morning, after the engine has been warmed up, and shut off, On the dipstick theres two dots, top and bottom. warmed up should be at the bottom dot right? Its not burning oil, or leaking oil. and 4 quarts were put in about 2500 miles ago on its last oil change.

if you have just been running the car and check the oil right away it will not mark right on the dipstick.
Give it about 10 min and then check

from my experience after the car has been driven, the oil level on the dip stick is above the upper dot but goes back down after.

Warmed up or cold, your level should be between the dots; hopefully, near the top one.
