Default Retinted windows....BIG PROBLEMS

ok well i had my front windows retinted cuz the first place i went to was really cheap but only would go legal. So i had them redone and now when i roll (yes i know its power windows but i dont know what else to say) either window up, it makes a loud screaching sound and leaves big vertical lines on the glass. After windexing the vertical streaks, i took a closer look and saw that there actually little scratches that i couldnt get out!!!! it will be a while before i can get back to the place where they did the tint the 2nd time. anyone have any useful info or help??????????? PLEASE

Are the rubber sleeves in the doors situated in the correct up position?

Also try Pledge Wood Polish on the tint/window, will clean and make it slide better.

Haha, I wonder if the blade they used to scrape the tint off wasn't stainless steel. If it were, say, a non-SS blade, it would put scratches in the glass without blinking. If your problem is the seal pressing too hard against the glass, that's odd.

Just bring it back to the place that retinted it. BE NICE. They should fix it. If it didn't do that before the work they performed, they are responsible.

Thats why you pay a little extra for a good reputable shop. I paid $200 for tint on my wrx.

The same thing happened on my Impreza, something inside the door frame scratched the hell outta my drivers side window & tint.

Now that we have our xB & tC, i don't mind the scratches on my Subaru.

Sounds like they took the front windows out to do the tint and it didn't set back in the tracks right. I know some places that take the windows out.

windex has amonia in it and will cause the tint to become cloudy over time. May not happen the first time, or thirtieth time, but it will cause it to become milky/cloudy looking.

I tint windows, ask me anything.

Here are my answers to some of the answers
-It is retarded to take out the windows; a good tinter does not need to
-almost every tint shop offfers a life-time warranty; but guess what, it won't last a life time.
-Windex will harm the old-school film, not the film used these days
-it don't matter how good the tint is, it will scratch
-For the 1" blades (scrapers), you don't have to use stainless steel. it won't scratch. but for the cutting blaces (NT, OLFA), you have to use stainless steel.
-and lastly, the scratches are probably from a small rock stuck in the rubber and then scratched it. It is wrong to blame the tinter for that. Would you demand a free paint job if it got srcatched from a rock?
