Hello,

I have been searching for the last 2 hours on reverse/back up cameras and how to videos and or threads and cannot find any for the 2008 scion tC. I know that back up cameras appear to be tacky for a lot of tC1 owners but where I live I need one.

So if anyone has installed one:

1. How hard was it?

2. Do you have a DIY?

3. What head unit do you have? I am currently using a Pioneer AVH-P2300DVD head unit.

I want the camera mounted on the license plate because i feel it would look cleaner. The camera I am wanting to get is this one------>


Any help would be great i just don't want to have to go somewhere to have one installed if I can do it on my own.

Just mount it above the plate and run the wiring to your unit. I don't know how to hook it up when you go into reverse.

According to install manual you have to connect violet/white wire from radio to your reverse light

There's a pink wire in drivers lower kick panel that is your (+) reverse wire,
This is where the violet/white from the radio and red power wire of your reverse camera will go, the black wire from camera goes to chassis ground. Yellow video cable goes plugged into rear camera input on radio.

It's not that it looks tacky its just such a small car I can't see the need for a reverse camera.
