if it is stock vs. stock, the srt-4 will win. modified could be a different story though.

The SRT4 is a monster of a machine. Horrible interior and suspension isent much to be desired. But that engine is nice.

The srt-4 should win if the tranny can stay together

neon:
Suspension : F - Independent MacPherson strut
R - Independent multilink
Brakes : F - Vented discs
R - Solid discs
60-0 braking distance : 120 ft
200 ft skidpad : 0.85 g

tc:
Suspension : F - Independent MacPherson strut
R - Independent double wishbone
Brakes : F - Vented discs
R - Solid discs
60-0 braking distance : 125 ft
200 ft skidpad : 0.81 g

so how does our suspension suck again?

it's a truck transmission good for 500tq. what's the problem again?

this wasn't meant to be a neon-bashing thread because you people obviously have no clue and serious misconceptions about the neons and what they can handle and are capable of. this is only a question between two friends that will go down the track side by side soon enough.....

no, your thinking about icenine, he is the one with a supercharged tc that dyno'ed 311 whp, but i don't think he ever posted track numbers with his tc.

The SRT4 will murder a supercharged tC everyday, all day even if they miss a gear. I am not saying it hasnt been done, but no one has EVER posted a supercharged time that is better than a 14.7, and I did a 14.7. And on street tires dont think I could do anybetter. That was putting 227whp to the ground at 9.5 PSI.

I think the fastest supercharged tC was also spraying n02 and hit a 13.9, still wouldnt beet a srt-4.

I do not like the srt-4 one bit, but I also cannot deny the fact that they are beasts and have some of the highest potential of ANY car in its class!!

I will tell you the same thing I tell my friend... at the end of the day it's still a neon! That being the case, my money is on the SRT-4.

I've driven 3 SRT 4's 2 02's and one 05 it just didn't handle well in the twisty's in a straight line it's an amazing machine and super fast however like I said before I could not stand how it handled unless going straight. Just my opinion.

well, the tc just isn't built for setting blistering acceleration times, i mean, you have to shift twice just to get to 60. and also, turbochargers are just more efficient than superchargers since they make more power, while the supercharger only builds power until redline.

is that aftermarket, cause i've seen more srt-4's throw tranny fluid down a track more than any other car. I;m not bashing the srt-4 at all its the only Chrysler car I would drive. They just have a weak tranny for there power from what ive seen

no it's not aftermarket, it's stock. and i've never seen a srt blow a transmission on the track. or on the street. i've seen two tc's do it though. i've seen neons pop motors and snap axles, but the transmissions on these cars are the one thing that we don't have to worry about. i think you're mistaken on what you saw at the track. i have no doubt that something broke, it happens when you make power, but i highly doubt it was the transmission.

they perform rather well actually, thanks for asking. i'm sorry you guys have a misconception about our suspension, but the fact is that it's pretty damn good. when they put a neon against a competition m3 on a road course and the m3 doesn't really do that much better i think that it's a pretty good set up. here's the numbers in case you missed the article

0-60
BMW - 5.1
NEON- 5.7

1/4 mile
BMW - 13.4@107mph
NEON - 13.9@105mph

Lap Times
BMW on average 0.15 sec quicker, 0.12 mph faster.

Price:
BMW - $55,840
NEON - $23,335

so how does your tc compare?????????

Some oh those srt 4 can handle...
The last run I did a while ago:

But then again it all comes down to the driver...for handling capabilities.
