a sad day for a tc
Ok so I got my black sand tc about 6 weeks ago. I have loved that baby like no other. Well the other day a car decided to not slow down and rear ended me like crazy. We're talking crazy whiplash & damage to my car--- hatchback=my backseat. Then I was smushed into the car in front of me, etc. My tc was hurt so bad it had to be towed.....dude's insurance has declared mine a "total loss." Can't even blue book it yet b/c it is so new.
Though the airbag did not go off-- not so sure if that is a good sign?
I just want everyone to reflect and take care of their scion's... not that you can control other bad drivers but STILL.

You're probably not going to get enough to get another new tC (they will claim it lost value because it's not straight out of the showroom).
But you do have grounds for a law suit on the grounds of "lost wages" and pain and suffering, and it comes right out of the insurance's pocket. . . laywers have doctors they regularly take clients to to get legal proof of pain and suffering. The "examination" is a total joke. It is 100% their fault, and they are 100% liable, thus their insurance will not waste the money to go to court and will likely settle out of court if your claim isn't too rediculous. I've seen settlements of about $10,000; pretty common. . . but I wouldn't push for much more than that. $5k? No problem.
Yes, someone will probably post, ranting about frivalous law suits, but I'm just letting you know that this IS your LEGAL right.

dude, sorry for your loss. hope you are ok.
First off, I'm really sorry to hear about the accident, and I hope you get better soon...Whoever said that cars can be replaced, lives can't is absolutely correct...I know you loved your tC, but at least you can replace it somehow...

I would love to buy some parts off it to replace some of the broken ____ on my car. Getting sick of waiting for the dealer to actually fix stuff, and if I can get used parts cheap enough I'll just fix it myself.
My wife rearended an F150 (one week after we bought it), caused 3500 worth of damage to the tC (which has been in the shop since the 7th). Our airbags didn't go off either. I hope theres nothing worng with them?

Anyway it's good to hear that only the car was wrecked. Actually it's not so good, but it could have been a lot worse. Good luck.
