I'm sorry to hear about that. Hopefully you're doing okay, despite having whiplash.
I'm curious, though. In Texas, if you're involved in an accident in which you are hit from behind and pushed into the car in front of you, the last part (being pushed into the car in front of you) is considered "your fault". 1st one -their fault, 2nd one - your fault. I guess it's because you're supposed to stop far from the car in front of you. Like if you look directly over your steering wheel, when that visual lines up with the bottom of the car in front's back tire. I don't know how that works with tall people, 'cause I'm short, so it's cool. The cops will rule that you didn't stop far enough to prevent the 2nd accident.
Anyway, my question is, how does that work in your state? Where are you anyway? Anyone else know how this works in your respective state?

an Airbag will only go off if hit hard enough in the right area. Thats why the person who hit the truck 's airback didnt go off, and the same for your tc mytc In that kind of situation, and airbag can do more harm then good.

Sorry to hear about your car, hope you're OK. Make sure to sue, you will definately get at least $5K towards the purchase of your new car.

We know for sure that the airbags do go off, look at the other car that was totalled a while ago.

Once again, sorry about your loss

Glad to hear you're alright man. If I did my homework correctly, the airbag system only deploys when it detects an abrupt forward decelleration accompanying the impact of one of the front SRS sensors. Sounds like you were stopped at a light when it happened so maybe that's why they didn't go off. Hope everything works out man.

Hey, do you have to wait for a very long time just to get it estimated?? cuz it took them a month to estimate my car totaled. and now I have to wait again for AAA to pay my loan. Is it usual? They use Celica's part to determine my repair cost, its too new to judge a tc for now. any suggestions are welcome.
