At least if the paint peels we'll be able to get that fixed under warranty...

I really haven't had this problem with my car yet, but I only have about 3500 miles on it.

Is it showing that it's more of the original tC's then the newer ones that are having the paint problem?

That'd be pretty sweet, however I'm going this evening to get a quote on a clear bra...

i'm just guessing but probably simply because they can get away with ____ like that. it's pretty hard to take legal action against a large company.

NO. I've had two tCs, one built in January 05 & one built in February 05 & the paint is the same on them. They pretty much scratch if you even breathe on them!!

They said I didn't provide enough evidence of a paint defect. Like I've said before, it'd be impossible to prove an actual defect without spending thousands of dollars to have the paint scientfically tested.. I don't know about you or anyone else here but I don't have the money for that.. that's why I bought a Scion in the first place.

And yes, it is very hard to take action against a large company like this.. especially with a claim like this. They might be swayed by a class action suit or something large scale of the sort, but who knows we may all just have to suck it up and deal with it. That's life.

Sucks, I've noticed more chips than I would expect, but then again the 1997 corolla I had before actually had a pretty beat up front end. I think it's just Toyota's paint period that sucks, not specifically the scions.

Just to let you all know it's not just the Scion's paint.. It's paint in general.

The automakers are looking to 'cheapen' the paint as much as possible. The guy I am having 'clear bra' my front end has said it's all cars. He's had a couple Porche's in lately that have less then 5k miles and look like they were driven through construction zones and had rocks just thrown at their cars.

I think a lot has to do w/ your area too. How well the roads are kept up and stuff like that.

I'm having my front end done ASAP to avoid anything like this.

I saw the option of getting your scion "simonized" at the dealership the other day. Would this help prevent any of the paint problems?

Its some paint protection that is like a teflon coating that is put on your car. Helps keep acid rain, bugs, bird ____, and dust and dirt from damaging your paint job.

I'd trust a third party to do that instead, unless Toyota will guarantee to repaint the car if it starts chipping. Otherwise, who knows how good their BS product will work?

Good point..but even if you go third party there is always still that risk there. If i were you i would trust toyota more because they work with you better then a third party will. But before you jump into anything find out all the details about it.
