scion paint.....
a full and properly done paint job (if you want to match anywhere near factory quality) will most likely cost you upwards of $3500. it's not cheap, not cheap at all. i've had several estimates done on my car and its not worth the money to have the entire car repainted. just do like i am.. save up.. get the front end repainted by a reputable shop (will run you $800-1300) and then get a 3m ClearBra installed. or just say F- it and buy yourself a couple tubes of touch up paint, cuz you're gonna need it.

man at first i thought there was just a bunch of babys on this forum. but this paint realy sucks i have 800 miles on my car no freeway. and it is really chipped. pretty much i think everything chips my car. i dropped a rubber hose on my car and i have a pretty bad scratch.
i have some marks on my car that appeared as soon as i got home from the dealer after picking it up... They look kinda like scuff marks or something maybe an actual defect. I gotta go see them about it, but they'll do anything.
I'm seriously thinking we should all file a class action lawsuit. The problem is not just with the tC's but with the xA's and xB's too. I think we need media attention. Sounds far fetched I know, but if we could get hundreds of Scion owners who all seem to be having this problem on a show like 60 minutes or Dateline then our little problem may be repaired and go away. Media attention is honestly the best way I can think about going through the whole process because Toyota of North America will have a fit if they see there products being bashed on National Television.
3M vinyl clear mask, like vinyl graphics but transparent. Puts the stop on chips. Re-apply about every three years if needed. Mask the front area or known trouble spots. You can't even tell it's there. Worked on the xB.
At what cost?
I'd much rather class action and we all get taken care of,
then pay $350 every 3 years and still have chips.
I have a small rock chip on my pillar, right by the
windshield. not enough 3M to cover the whole box, sorry.

Eventhough The paint looks good from the factory it doesnt last. Every time I buy a car I take it to a prodessional detail shop and have them recut the paint. costs a couple hundred but the new finish with last longer. I tell you what, my indigo ink looked absolutley amazing when they were done, 100% better than before and I drove it straight from the dealership to the shop. Heck, I work at the dealership!
But I have noticed serious rock chips after only 4,000 miles. Right on the ridge of the hood
