Default Scion Security Option - Additional Keyfob? More Info?

OK, I got and paid for this option, however, when I originally purchased it I made the decision because there was a flash move on www.wanttc.com that shows just the key being pressed to use all the functions of the security system. So here are my questions:

1. Is there another keyfob that you have to carry around, or does it just override the panic button on the key?

2. What are the features, in english, of this system. The features list doesn't really list anything that is really security related. Interior light activation is nice, but door lock/relock? what the $%^&%$ does that mean, I can already lock my doors. Panic? I already have a panic feature.

I'm also damn curious about this - I think I know that as far as security features, you get a glass break sensor (the thing with the microphone so if your window is broken the car knows it) as well as a sensor so if the door is opened with the alarm armed it goes off. Other than that, i'm not sure about shock sensors or tilt sensors - I'm sure someone else can answer.

The key fob thing is really important to me. I know the scion security is totally overpriced, but I'll probably buy it if it does basically what I need (I don't need some damn pager telling me when my alarm goes off), but I only want it if it somehow works from the stock key - there is no way in hell I'm getting it if they just add another key fob. Anyone can do that and it will probably be better and definitely be cheaper.

No extra fobs - uses the stock key remote. And no, it does not add a $500 worth of features - basically a shock sensor, glass breakage sensor and interior lighting when you open the car.

That is good news, I know it doesn't have $500 worth of features, but it has enough IMHO along with the engine imobolizer/key setup.

Does anybody have the install manual for this? I have almost every other manual, but haven't seen any for this one.

I agree - it's a new car, I can put it in the payments, and just not having to use a seperate fob is worth real money to me. I don't want an alarm that does all kinda crazy ____ - I just want one that goes off when someone trys to steal my car.

I bet this install is hard - I'd really like to see that manual too. It might be the kind of thing that would be worth having the dealer install though - having the alarm under warranty is probably a good idea.

I just mainly wanted to see tha manual to know what features and where they are, I am sure the install is a pain.

I will post a seperate thread to see if anybody has it.

i can scan the alarm user manual for you if you want. feature wise...it's not even worth 150 bucks.

But spending another $469 is just way too much, I would have to think more about that.

I know it doesn't have all the features, I priced this for a previous car, I would say it is missing:

1. Door open sensors?, it actually might have this, don't know, would be pretty easy to do with dome light etc.
2. Autostart, for the same cash you can get one with that.
3. 2-way status, although my dealer implied if the alarm goes off the light on the keyfob lights up.

I know you can get allot of bang for the buck, but I don't want anything EXTREMELY sensative since I don't live in a high crime area, and NOT having another keyfob is worth about 200 to me as far as value.

Same here. Does anyone have the install guide for the alarm?
