^^^ I think it starts with a 1 for the US market...

And I never ever heard of a tC being made in Penn... (there is no Toyota plant there right now.) I never heard of a tC being US/CA made too...

Both of you are wrong...

tC's are made in japan, just not sold there
and ur tC could not be "JDM" because it is not a part of the Japanese Domestic Market (being that it is not sold there)
100% agree with BuddhasTC, just look at the sticker at the driver side window talking of parts and assembly on the tC at the dealer lots, the tC is 100% Japan and the final assembly point is also, I have a pic of mine before the dealer took the sticker off. When your car is made in Japan AND it's right hand drive factory, then you can say it's JDM.
your kidding, ...right?.....
The sticker on my tC before the dealer took it off...

Specify what you speak of please. The tC is not JDM as it is not even sold in Japan, that's already been made clear. But yes it is a true import in the sense that everything of the car is done/made in Japan, not like some imports that are slowly being domesticated(look at the new xB). I know in Puerto Rico whenever they advertise the Scions in the papers they emphasize "100% Japonese" as a selling point(I'm not sure of that now though).

I am from Puerto Rico, and never in my life have I heard that kind of advertisement.

ok.. let's just get this over with.

JDM = JAPANESE DOMESTIC MARKET

the tC is not sold in the JAPANESE DOMESTIC MARKET. therefore.. it is not JDM.

Never understood that one... It just makes me think of Undercover Brother where his car is spinnin out all over the place but he keeps his topped off Big Gulp completely still and doesn't spill.

^^^supposedly, the cup represents the car's center of gravity. during a drift, the water swirls but doesnt spill, therefore keeping the drift nice and smooth.

ive sat in a 240 while drifting though, and its rougher than it looks.

Interesting that as a tC owner I'm not alone in knowing about the Initial D series. ha.
as far as if it blows sunshine up your skirt to make your tC look like an ae86 then go for it. As for those that have posted that you can't drift the tC because it's FWD.... I've been driving and racing longer than some you have been alive. It is possible to drift a FWD car. it just takes a lot more practice and skill to get it down. It took me almost a year of practicing to drift a FWD effortlessly like it was RWD. but it can be done.
I need to update my profile here, I have tons of mods since my last update.
Peace to my fellow tC owners

In the Initial D series, the main character drives around the mountain, to deliver Tofu to a nearby hotel, while driving as fast as he can without spilling, not even a drop, of water. It was like racing training for him. His dad used to make him do it every time he was making a delivery, since he was in 7th grade. At 18 or 21 years old, he had already mastered drifting and mountain grip driving. One of the best anime series ever. The 5th season is suppose to come out later in 2008.

To soros151, the ads that I'm talking about are placed in the classified ads of the newspaper if I recall, its been like a year since I been at the island, but you'd see that "100% Japones" by the pic of the xB.

Regarding the Initial-D series, they're still making more stages? I got some catching up to do, I've yet to start 4th stage. For anyone interested of the series or want to get into it, they have it all on youtube, just that each episode is separated into 3 parts . And don't buy into that TokyoPOP b.s. either, get the subbed releases(for much less).

Here's the first stage first episode > http://youtube.com/watch?v=Nagj1pBQjZA

What the hell?

For the amount of money you'd have to drop in order to make a tC look like that god damned Corolla, you could find and buy that god damned Corolla.

I'm ashamed some times....

Also about Initial D, one can say that the 4th Stage could be one of the best stages ever. You can actually see even more technical details about driving, all explained by Takahashi Ryosuke himself. <<<<<< (I'm an anime freak)

haha i have the WHOLE Initial D collection.

The Anime is AWSOME. loved it for along time.

the live action movie was HORRIBLE!
watchin and being a avid Initial D fan, the movie was a debotchery of the anime. the story was FUBAR. no character development, some of the characters didnt even drive the same cars as the anime and if you watched it...you would know.
