Scion tC compared to Integra?
Hey can I get a comparison between the Integra and tC?
handling?
gas mileage?
performance?
insurance?
which one has a better tranny/clutch?
Thanks..I'm debating whether to get the tC or Integra. I like the interior and exterior of the Integra a lot more but what concerns me is THEFT. That's why I don't really want a Integra.
I know some of you have had Integras so put up your thoughts!!!

I'm personally not familiar enough with the Integra to give an informed response, however, these comparison conversations (or vs. threads) are generally held in the "all other vehicles" forum. I'm moving your thread there.
i use to own a 4dr GSR and that car was better then my current tC. But to be honest if you are worried about theft the integra isn't a good car to have. Just depends on the area you stay in. I didn't have any problems with theft and i had the car for 6 yrs.
but i stay in a small town.
handling - Integra is better
gas mileage - about the same
performance - integra GSR is better - the LS model is about the same
insurance - the same (again i had a 4dr)
to be honest i would love to have an integra again but it's going to be hard to find one with low mileage and it ragged out.
i would honestly tell you to get a tC it's a good car for the price and there are so many possibles to mod the car

which integra?
ls, gsr, type-r...
i would say stock tCs would be between a stock gsr and an ls
type-r is no comparison to the tC
ls's are just plain slow. (now FI is another story)
i would say stock gsr 's are better from specs
170hp > 160hp
and lighter weight would help with the handling and in a straight line
you also are right about the theft issue, integra was one of the top of the list.
however, now that the tegs are alittle outdated i'm not so sure.
good luck on your choice

bahahahahahhaah, best thread ever.......
gas miliage on tC's isn't THAT great, I hate to burst bubbles... I get better milage with my ITR as long as i'm not going to 8400 every shift (depends on my moood) the only benefit is that tC's can take 87.
My ITR (highly rare/theft rate of all integras which are bad enough on their own) is only $16 more a month for insurance. but it has to have multi layered security and garage kept..
your only real advantage of a tC would be factory warranty and age.... and perhaps a more refined cabin layout.... that's it.
Okay I'd rather roadtrip my tC...... but my Type R owns every other other aspect... It's not even in the same class if you ask me. That and you're lucky if you see 1-2 ITR's per city. My tC would/will never have a crowd drawn around it taking pictures whenever I walk out a public building (this is a common occurance, especially on weekend nights).... I only got the tC to turn heads in Jan 05 when they weren't that common yet.
I think GSR is an all around stomp on the tC....... it only has a chance against RS/LS/GS

LOVE!

I personally like the looks of a tC against that of an integra. I don't like the tall windows of a teg. handling goes to the integra because it's a smaller lighter car, speed also goes to the teg for the same reason.
i just like the tC more because there's more room in it. I'm a bigger guy, so the extra space is golden.

get a GSR . . . pretty sweet Ride. I remember after around 4500 RPM tht **** got crazy.
Gas Mileage: Teg>tC no question.
Handling: Teg>tC
Performance: with the weight difference on the Teg, even the Ls/Rs can hang with a good driver. GSR will win and ITR Will blow it out.
Not too sure about tranny or Clutch or insurance, but If you live in SoCal, theft is common. 2 of my friends with an LS and GSR had theirs stolen. Si's are stolen alot here too.
Plus I'm sure ull save a grip by getting an Integra over a tC. Just make sure to get full coverage cuz of theft.

Get the clifford blackjax..... so amazing.
I back ddsboi on everything said.
My VTEC doesn't kick in till around 5600 but it's a damn WILD ride tiill 8400. As far as transmission the ITR isn't geared THAT great. At 80 MPH in 5th i'm revving at like 4200rpm but my tC wasn't much better..... Other teg tranny's aren't geared like that. Oh yeah ITR's have an LSD, so crucial.
But yeah i'd suggest a GSR or ITR anyday.

Are you serious??? it revs that high in 6th? wtf.... that's insane man. So many times I'm on the highway saying "c'mon 6th gear WTFFFFFFFFF"
But then again when i'm at 55 and it's barely revving above 3k it feels like i'm abusing it by revving it too low.

I have to say the Teg wins this hands down in everything except maybe insurance. Theft rates are apparently very high, especially in metropolitan cities.
As far as front wheel drive sporty cars go, in overall performance the GSR/ITR pretty much dominate everything hands down. I'd personally prefer a RSX-S, if only for the K20s potential. But you can't disrespect the Teg if you're talking about FWD cars.

I have both. A 94 GSR and a 06 tC. The biggest difference you will see in day to day driving is that the GSR has NO torque. You have to make alot of noise to take off just a little bit quick. They rev quickly and make alot of noise doing it. It has little power until you get above 5k rpms then it has lots of power. I REALLY love the car but honestly its kinda a pain for everyday driving. Which is why I got the tC. The torque is great. I can take off the line easily without having to dump the clutch or wind the gears. The mileage is about the same. The GSR is definately more fun but it comes at a price of comfort. The biggest complaint I have of the tC is that it has more rattles than my 12 year old GSR. Thats not right.
unless ur getting a GSR , if your gonna put up the cash for an LS, maybe look for a Celica GT-S. Not sure how much
Theft is very rare in the GT-S, it is very lightweight at around 2500 lbs, it handles quite well for a FWD and has tons of suspension potential. Its pretty good on gas from what my friend tells me also. Also is pushing 180 BHP, but lacks torque. Pretty efficient 1.8L and has Lift, which is kind of like the v-tec for toyotas. Al though aftermarket might be a lil weak.

Not only does the lsd grip but it rev's out 1st in a flash and by the time you shift you still land at over 6,000 (vtec range) and you can consider yourself smoked.
I own both cars buddy, the tC has a pathetic excuse for power in comparison.
