And thre is no wire that would get wrapped around anything rotating that would cause major damage. At worst, I could see a wire chaffing over time due to a faulty install and shorting something out, but not happening the way it is described here.
This is either over exaggerated, the car ran over a down power line, struck by lightening, or a UFO zapped it with a blaster beam. Either way I would not want a new car with any repairs done to it. I would be calling Toyota corporate and demand something done either a replacement, some kind of a discount of the purchased price, let pick out a few grand of accesories and parts, or something. He can't just bend over and take it. A man has to take a stand sometime in his life but if he can't he can go buy a lawyer to do it for him.

Im glad this didnt happen to me. I saw a UFO last nite but hit the flux Capaciotr ignitor and got away from the blaster beam. I say demand a new car and get a lawyer if they dont give you one.
