Default Scion tC Fastest Toyota Ever!

Haha....not quite. I very briefly saw a tC for the 1st time in person today at a dealer in Danbury CT. Had a great shape, though a little stubby. Seats were comfortable and headroom was slightly tight (5'11"), though I did not have time to mess with the seat adjustments so I am sure it will be fine. Agree that the sunroof shades are a cheap touch....but I think the Headunit cover is not cheap at all. It operates smoothly without a problem. Overall, very impressed with quality and materials used.....can't wait to spend more time checking it out.

In regards to the title of the post...the dealer came out as I was looking at the tC and said, 'Oh yeah that's a great car, we took it out for a drive today. By far the fastest Toyota I have ever driven!"

My guess is the only toyotas he has ever driven is an echo and a corolla......automatic........with a 300 lb passenger.

I'm not talking about top speed, but the new Prius has 208 lbs of torque at 0 RPMs... find me a gas engine that can do that... honestly it's supposed to have more pickup than the V6 camry. I guess that's great until you get to about 60 where the thing starts to lag.

Honestly though... how can he possibly think it's the fastest toyota... he doesn't have any spyders on the lot?

well... if he does .. he's prolly never driven one ... the tC could be the fastest Toyota He's ever driven... some dealers won't let the salesmen testdrive the MR2, Celica GT-S, or Land Cruiser ... "Too much risk involved" course.. when I worked for a dealership, I had a woman who testdrove a Rav4 and got herself a $90 speeding ticket because she decided to go 40 in a 25 ... I laughed all day at that one cause I warned her to keep it slow and she said it'd be fine ....

Default Top Speed / Quickness

I think the Tundra is the current champ.

Used to be the Supra.

Actually, I think you'd better check your numbers. Every car has 0 lbs of torque at 0RPMs.

Default Prius Torque

He is right, the Prius has 208 @ 0 RPM. That is how much torques the electric motor puts out. So, even witht he gasoline engine not going, you have torque at 0 RPM. Go to www.toyota.com and check out the "future cars". The Volta concept is very fast and powerful, using 2 axle mounted electric motors and a 3.3 V6 too.

Ah, the electric motor! I stand corrected (even though the electric motor does have it's own rpms). So the prius launches with the electric, not the gas? Interesting.

It should be the fastest Scion, but not the fastest Toyota, since we have Lexus too.
