Scion tC - fun and sporty or heavy overrated econo-box?
am I missing somthing or did the short throw you buy add 30whp?? Were on earth are you getting your hp numbers? going off estimated crank hp..?
I agree with Somnambulated.. Go start test driving.. Test drive everything you can imagine wanting that's in your price range. It's mostly whatever YOU want the car to do or feel like. We can make suggestions, but even then, you'll have to be really specific about what you're looking for.
*sigh* You people.
I didn't list all my mods in that post because I was only discussing the price of those particular basics that I listed. I never said you can get THAT much from JUST those upgrades, though I can see how that might seem like it was implied. There's a complete list in my profile. Yes, I have a ZPI crank pulley.

That's perfectly ok. I've had several people locally try to call bullsh*t on my dyno numbers, so I'm used to skepticism.
I'm interested in whether Opticon is looking for straight-line speed or a combination of some speed and handling. Also, does he intend to do anything aftermarket, or does he want the car to stay stock. Does he want rear wheel drive, front wheel drive, or all-wheel drive? 2 door or 4 door? Does he mind a pseudo-stick (tiptronic, etc) or does it HAVE to be manual? If I can get answers to ALL those questions, I can probably make a suggestion and save you some time comparing cars. Ultimately, though, you'll need to drive the car for yourself and see how you like it.

For 18k you can get a decently in shape pony car. For about 2k in adds, you can have a 13sec car.
But if you want real speed and you want it real cheap? And you want it new? Just buy a donorcycle. For 12k, you can have a crotch rocket that a $500k car would have trouble keeping up with.
