Default Scion tC heated mirrors????????

Has anyone dabbled into trying to put heated side mirrors on to their car? I have been wanting to lookin into this for a while and was seeing if anyone had any ideas about this. would it be possible to modify heated mirrors of a toyota corolla to fit them to the tC? just trying to get a better understanding on how it works? anyone with any input on this matter would be helpful. when i do this mod i will make sure to do up a parts list and step-by-step for all your do-it yourselfers! Thanks in advance

I would assume there would need to be additional wiring to make this work.

Definitely. No way the stock wiring, which only carries enough power for a handful of LEDs, would carry enough power to melt ice, assuming the heating elements are resistive power dissipating devices.

I know this is an old thread, but I'd rather reply to this instead of wasting space on a new one.

I know how to do this and I'm going to do it, but I don't want to take apart my only set of mirrors to do it in case I break something during disassembly. When I get another set of mirrors, I'll do it and post it up. I'm not really in a hurry since it's June and 100* out now lol.

Yea, I remember someone on another forum experimenting on this and piggybacking the rear defroster (if i remember correctly). I would like to see a finished product.

hopefully you figure something out thats easy enough to do. up here in NH it sucks come winter time. its hard to clear any ice off of it without messing up the mirror location.
