Default Scion tC manual stall-out question

I am a very good manual driver - I know my car and know when to shift and when to be in what gear. Today - pretty much made the first sentence false. I guess I had an off-day because i stalled out once and almost did it a second time. hehe -- it happens to the best of us. ANYWAY - the second time that it almost stalled I fealt the car ready to give out (put putt puttt puttt) and i pushed the clutch in.

What I am asking is - could you do damage by having this happen? I really have nothing to worry about because this is not a daily issue but I was wonding if someone had this stalling out problem on a daily basic; could this mess the car up after a while? By hearing the sometimes loud sounds before a car stalls I would assume it would eventually do damage. Is there truth to this? What, if any, damage could be done?

Just wondering - sorry for the dumb post but it just came to my mind.

i wouldn't worry too much about damage from stalls. the engine stalls as a safety feature to hault any further pending damage.

i think your stalls can be caused alot by the drive-by-wire system. it's very hard to judge sometimes, especially while driving right after startup and quick weather changes (air temp and density)

Well of course, i believe it puts undue stress on the tranny.

As a safety feature? Not to my understanding, it's a lot more simple than that. By going too slow you are forcing the car into a lower RPM than the minimum to maintain it (<500 rpm give or take). Damaging though? Not really.

Fealt like there was a drop (kinda like a bang) - something that I dont want to do again. I guess I was just dazed out plus i put 93oc in there and the car was running so much smoother --- im going to blame it a lil on that because I never have problems like this. I dunno - im tryin to find excuses so it doesnt sound like i suck. hehe

Default Tc stall problem

I found a good article on autoweek.com regarding stalling problems and the link is: http://www.autoweek.com/article.cms?articleId=103151

I test drove a manual one (and ordered one shortly after). I haven't driven a manual car in a little while, but I've noticed that the gas pedal has a slight lag in terms of responsiveness. I think it's because it's electronic and not cable actuated. I adjusted fairly quickly.

Like how the article mentions the "bucking". Since this is my first stick, I thought the bucking was perhaps due to an instable gas foot. Phewww. Glad to know its not entirely my fault. But still don't like the ride at low speeds.

As far as the guy with the stalling problem. If stalling causes damage to the car, then my car is toast. 'Cuz when I first learned, I must've stalled a ba-jillion times.

If it was a bang I think it was because you didnt pop it far enough into gear. This happened to me the other day when I was at an intersectiona and I tried to launch as normal and I heard a loud metal pop the the car stalled. So I can ____ed and I revved to 3k just to make sure I wouldnt stall again and bang. Then I realized I hadn't gone all the way into first because of our notchy ___ gearboxes.

ok retard don't dump the clutch so hard an pay attention. Your car will be fine. You can even grind the gears a few times if you want.
