Default Scion TC vs. Ford Mustang

Do you think the Scion TC is a better car than a low end Ford Mustang? Do you think the TC can cut into the sales of the new Ford Mustang? Which car would you rather have? Thanks. TomSki

tC most def. maybe when the 05 comes out, but till then the recent ford mustangs look like junk. they just don't age very well.

I think its 3.6 but anyways depending on how the mustang does with the new model it might just because even though the tc is selling great after this year in might not be in as large production... I love mustang power but they have a lot of problems and the low ends aren't made so great so the tC would work better in my opinion with reliability.

Comes down to Toyota or Ford. Whcih would you prefer. I know my choice. I don't think they will make enough tCs to made a dent in the Mustang. That retro design is sure to be hot at first but will die a hard death quickly. I think Ford made a bad mistake here. The Mustang needed to be redone but not redone as a 1968.

well when your talking about a low end mustang, the tc is way better, even my box can beat an auto v6 mustang(don't know about stick). if you start to talk about the v8, I still think the tc is better, because it will last longer. when the new mustang comes out, I think that they will have a huge amount of sales, to the point where they arn't unique anymore, so no one is going to car that they are retro.

Default apples and oranges

personally, I had a taurus and will _never_ buy a ford (and probably never buy american) again, and I have enough relatives working for ford that I can get the fleet rate on them. the 'stang will beat you in a straight line and it has nice wide seats for your fat american ___..... other than that, ummmm

the two vehicles bring different things to the table, but any sort of tie for me is broken by the proven reliability of the 2001-on avensis and the 2.4L camry motor, just about the most reliable powerplant on american roads.

Mustangs are cheap, you can get brand new ones for less than $13,000.

I appreciate how Ford is trying to bring the classic look back but it just doesn't do it like a real classic one would. I'd have to go with tC.

Now as for tC vs. your mom.......

Default now, I hate stangs as much as the next import lover, but....

characterizing them as slow as hell is ignoring the forest for the trees....

with a little bit of work, even an old stang will _destroy_ basically every ricer in a straight line. Now, when you need to totally rebuild your stang at 50k miles, you'll be disappointed you didn't take the tC. Also, matters of taste are indisputable... but I do like the tC's appearance (and what it says about me) more than the stang.

Default and about that 13k price tag....

yeah, I don't mean to flame anyone.... but you'd have to be one hell of a negotiator to talk a salesman down from 18,775 (base price) to 13k

I just sold a Auto 3.6L mustang for a 5 speed box, and there is no way that the box would win. I love the box more than the rustang, but trust me....it would lose.

Which model mustang are you referring to? Mustangs were released in 64 and were priced low to apeal to younger drivers (this strategy sounds familiar....) I am pretty sure mustangs were never marketing as "family cars." read up a little before posting information like you know what your talking about. thats just whacked.

Dunno, the 05 Mustang looks hot and it's an FR! Much more fun to drive than FF!

But, I'm getting a tC, cause that's the car I want for the money I can put down.. besides, I'm sick of American cars.. this is the first 'import' I'll own, and I'm happy about that!
