Default Scion Visibility?

A know a couple people that have TCs and I've heard that they have pretty bad visibility. I also read in some reviews (car and driver?) that it's kind of bad. What do you guys think?

It is not that bad~ you just need time to get used to it. The front dash is kind of high, but other than that, everything is ok.

it's a hatchback, so, by nature, it will have some blind spots in the c pillar area.

i have trouble backing it up straight...every other car i've driven will backup straight, this one need constant wheel adjustment to backup in a staright line, i think it's the responsive steering...

nothing to worry about.
If you worry about it, you'll get in a accident.

Yeah, the A-pillars are weird cuz they can give you FRONTAL blindspots. But once you get used to them after 2 weeks or so you won't really notice. And there is a good amount of rear blind areas, but I've kept a Broadway mirror ever since my Mustang and I've haven't had a problem with blindspots ever since. I adjust it so that I cover the entire rear hatch and the rear passenger quarter glass.

That had to be the hardest thing for me to get over. It's either the dash is high of the front of the car (hood) is too low, because I always used to seeing the hood of my car while driving it. But like it've said before, I'm used to it now.

I think it's the hood that's low. Cuz I noticed that I can't see the hood either hwne I'm driving, even when I sit up straight, but I really don't think it's the dash. It's a pretty short hood, too, which I like.

I need to get used to the visibility(or lack of) through the rear of the vehicle. I don't notice any problems through the front though.

i am kind of short and the A pillar and the mirrors block my view when i am turning in on medium speed turns. i think it is more my seating positon than anything. but i got used to it.

I think visibility is horrible. Had the car for a year, and it hasnt gotten any better. Its hard to park next to curbs and parallel park. The doors come up so high, it like shields you in. Most cars you can put your arm out the window easily. the tc is like your arms aiming up in the air lol. but the rear pillars and even front are HUGE compared to most cars.

My 90 integra is a hatchback too, and I feel like i can see every part of the road whichever way I look...

I can live with it, but it sucks...I got those little bubble mirrors on my stock ones to help see. It lets me see parking spaces lines real easily, and if cars are in lanes beside me.

It's a sports coupe. Don't they all have this issue?

I haven't noticed anything, although I am 6'2" and can almost stick my head out the sunroof while driving. I've only had the car about a week and I haven't really had any problems. It feels maybe a little iffy backing up, but that's just because I'm new in the car and the clutch likes to get away from me. I come from a focus that had practically 100% visibility all around and a crappy, predictable clutch. Not to mention about as much horsepower as a John Deere. No, scratch that, a Huffy.

I'm 5'9" and i do notice the blind spots in the rear quarters of the car, but those can be remedied with those little convex-shape mirrors you can mount on your side mirrors. As for the front... I don't have a problem. I sit pretty far back, and I don't miss anything. Mirror doesn't block any (maybe cuz i'm shorter). I used to have fuzzy dice hanging from my mirrors on my old car, and that used to block more... I got used to it.

Seriously, did you know the tC came with side mirrors?

sciontc_mich is right... just ADJUST your mirrors when backing up, etc.

simple as that....
