Default Screetching But I Don't Thinks It's Brakes

So I've noticed that sometimes in colder weather, I hear a squealing sound when I get on the brakes...

BUT, before you tell me I need new pads...

I can let off the brakes and then get back on with the same amount of pressure and I won't hear a peep. Usually this happens like, once or twice until the car is warmed up. And once again, this only seems to happen during the winter.

Any ideas?

Thanks guys!

it could be rust on the rotors like others have said. easy to check for that, just look behind the wheels, you'll see the rotors. look for rust on the surface.

but what I'm thinking it could be since it only happens in the winter..

you need more grease on the back of the pads and shims, it makes noise while cold cuz it's stuck and then warms up, it moves around. i think that's the problem, easy to fix, have some brake lube slapped on the back of the pads and shims. no more noise.

^ That was going to be my suggestion. My old car had the same problem. My uncle that did work on the car before me when I did my brake job told me to really grease the back and the shims or I would get squealing.

Another thing, if you do take your brakes apart to do this, get a big can of break cleaner and get rid of all the old dust. Just brake dust build up can cause things to squeal.

Good luck man.
