Default Is the security system that big of a deal?

personally, i hate car alarms that go off and off and truly don't deter theft, rather just annoy the hell out of the general public. however, i see that a lot of people have this installed on their tc's. i basically want to get all work done at the dealership that i can't have done afterwards without breaking my warranty. iirc, it's about 450 bucks. for those that have it, is it worth it?

Just buy it from Mcgeorgeparts for 235 and install it yourself, it's pretty easy

It sucks,it sucks it sucks. Oh yeah did I mention that it sucks. Don't waste your money I got it and it's the only thing I hate about my xB. I could have got a way better and REAL alarm system for half the money and trying to get scion to take it back well you can just forget that. Oh yeah and it sucks Don't buy it.

i wanna go to my dealer and tell them the same thing. ill even print out the install for the system and tell them exactly where the controller is located for them to turn it up. if they say "uh" to me, ill get real ____ed. id do it myself, but its worrantied, so ill let them do it, rather than me sweat it out in the hot sun.

u can get the compustar or the viper or the clifford for around the same price. they have the 2way, and everything else. i got the scion security-it doesn't do anything. the tc already has the engine immobilizer thing even without the scion security. biggest waste of a couple hundred dollars ever. i just bought the compustar9000 a couple of days ago. spent only half of what i spent on the scion security.

If someone wants something from your car they are going to get it. Just don't leave anything flashy showing and your fine.

And don't advertise your $2000 sound system in bad neighborhoods.

The immobilizer makes it so no one withought your key can actually operate your motor.

is the alarm a POS ? yep.

however, take into account that you can get this alarm financed with your car and also take into account that it lowers car insurance rates significantly. For me, having a car alarm more than pays for itself in lowered insurance cost.

my dealership told me I would get 5,000 if my car was ever stolen with the factory alarm accessory installed. I still passed. It doesn't have a two way feature which i thinkis hella cool about the compustar........................ one of their models has like a mile remote but whatever
