Shifter too long for knob...
Can anyone offer a solution for this? I like this ****, but I don't want to buy a short shifter. Any ideas? I was thinking about cutting the stock shifter, but I don't know how to rethread it...

How do you think the shifter looks in its current state?
BTW, what do I need to buy for a tap and die thingy? I don't really plan on using it again, so I'm looking to buy the minimum... I don't anything about tap and dies, so any help would be appreciated. I ask b/c I'm browsing online and I see a plethora of choices...

Buy a dremel tool with a cutting wheel. That is what i did and just cut the shifter down and now it looks like a short throw and feels better too, but a short throw is better. You can only cut it though if the **** is held by set screws. If it threads on then you need to tap and put threads on the part that is not cut. But a dremel tool is AWSOME!!! Everyone needs one[/img]
That shifter is still the same height as the stock. It is just doesnt have metal finish all the way down to the boot. If you buy an obx **** it has a space that goes all the way down.
