Default short shifter feel

Does a short shifter feel smoother or stiffer compared to stock? I heard its a little harder to shift. Please let me know the truth...

If you are turning a wrench, is it easier to turn the farther away from the nut, or harder? Just think.

The TWM shortshifter has a firmer feel when throwing the shifter. I wouldnt say its harder, but it just feels more precise. The shortened throw just makes it less work and the fun factor goes waaay up! I recommend getting one.
