Hey I have a TWM shifter. I have the stock shift **** on it and it works great. It gave it a tighter feel. I am very happy with it.

Go here http://www.twmperformance.com/

You can buy it with or with out the shift **** your choice.

Its exactly what it says.
It allows for "easier" transitions between gears.

nm i just researched on it

actually.... if you get a cheap short shifter its the same as stock but the stick you handle on to is shorter, its the exactly the same..... it will reduce your shifting path but increases effort...

so.... yes get a wieghted shift ****, and also if you want to do a cheaper way of a short shifter, just literally cut it with the saw that cuts through metal (i forgot what its called).... ive done it with my tC, yes its shorter but more effort, i bet once i get the weighted shift **** itll be better....

Alright, casting the ****** aside, let me give you some real answers since I actually have a good shortshifter and weighted ****, both from TWM.

I'll keep it simple.
The short shifter is like night and day comparison, there is no way in hell I would ever go back to stock! It's so much smoother, engages quicker, and feels a bit notchier. It snaps back to neutral when needed to very easily. About a week after I bought their short shifter I bought the weighted shift **** to go with it, and man, once again night day difference. The weighting helps the throws flow a lot faster and with a lot less effort.

Bottom Line:

TWM Short Shifter =
TWM Weighted Shift **** =

Enjoy.

Realistically I would get the TWM shift **** because it's weighted to be a perfect counterbalance for their shifter, thus making everything very smooth and very easy to shift.

More weight would make the shifter feel top-heavy, and would slump awkwardly into gear. I would get the TWM. Yeah, it's a little pricey, but it's priced because it's a good buy.

Read the description for the **** in the second link. It's designed for a completely different set of vehicles and their transmissions. Yeah it would probably work on most Toyotas like it says, but not all ***** will fit the threads properly. Also, ergonomic designs are kinda hard to "rip off".

Not like I'm trying to sell everyone on the TWM, it's just that I have it, love it, and know what I'm talking about.

what are you smoking? its a ****! it will not affect your transmission or care what type of transmission you have. it will not refuse to work properly if you put it on a standard H pattern. it also will make no difference if you put it in an auto. the thread pattern is 12x1.25, same as that on the tc. as long as it screws on, it will work, regardless of transmission types.

Haha, oops, I meant to say shifters but instead said transmissions . My bad. The point I was trying to get across here is that if he's going to get a short shifter, then he should purchase a **** that is weighted and counterbalanced for the shifter he purchased so that he gets the best throws out of it. As far as what I'm smoking goes... I don't know about you, but I'm here at work and not really diggin' it. You should ride up from Oakland to my Walnut Creek office and share

I have no idea what the actual weight is. And yeah, I probably could have bought a momo, but TWM cut me a deal on their counterbalanced **** for buying their short shifter kit. So I went ahead and got theirs.

I didn't really give it a whole lot of thought, but I did have the stock piece of crap OBX mesh **** on there for about a week and yeah, the weighting feels perfect now, before it felt like all the weight was in the base of the shifter and shifting felt a bit awkward.

One thing I'm not really pleased with is the stock shift boot. It crumples up a little more than I would like. Can you recommend a replacement?
