well all the people went with twm because it was the only one out at the time that actually lowers the **** height. the one from creativecompact was still a prototype then but it look pretty much identical to the twm and was cheaper. for $89 it even includes a ****. i took a chance with the pre-order since the retail price was suppose to be over $100 when its finally ready for sale.
yep thats why I went with the twm b/c they were the only ones out... but they make a good product so I am happy and I got it when it was cheaper but I hear the creative compacts is pretty much a clone of the twm not that you can really change the design around that much any ways...
Another positive review of the TWM shifter/**** combo from me. Fit and finish are superb, build quality is incredible. The difference in shifting throw and effort between TWM and stock is basically incomparable. The OEM shifter is awful-- the only thing I immediately disliked about the tC. The TWM is worth the money, without question.
Oh, and the weighted **** is something just over 500 grams-- so about 17.5oz. Single downside to the TWM ****: bare metal, baby. Summer's coming, I'm gonna need to make a protective cozy to go over it when the car is parked. Thing will burn a hole in your palm.

I've heard that using a short shifter is harder on our synchros - to quote someone:
"When you try to shorten the shift distance of the lever, you are forcing the sychro to work harder, so you might even hear gear crunch if you try to shift even faster.
I didn't get one because, to me, the mili-second gained is not worth the potential hazards it can cause to the gears."
I can understand if there is a concern - have any of you had this happen to you, or know the reasoning behind this?

Poppycock. Even moreso on a car with a cable actuated transmission. I put thousands upon thousands of miles on my last car with no ill effects, and will put even more on this one. And from that quote, it doesn't sound like the guy is afraid of the SS itself, but wary of his own ability to shift.
The short shifter is a tool, just as the OEM shifter is a tool. Used properly, no ills shall befall you. Short stroke every shift with either and you'll do the same damage.
