nice, I have never driven a car with a short throw kit. How much difference is there? I dont know how that price compares to kits for other cars but 150 wouldnt be horrible if it makes a difference. :D

Cool beans. The aftermarket, esp. TRD stuff gets released pretty fast. We had to wait a year and a half for TRD SC to be releazed for 1ZZ, and the rest of the stuff also was not released 2 months after the car got to the dealership. Good news...

if trd says two months your best bet is 6 months. trd really lags on releasing products.

i think that price is CHEAP... the Pro Lex Performance short shifter for the IS was about 300... i got mine for about 220 used.

it is awesome though... i loved it so much... much more positive feel on shifts on top of the shorter travel... and i don't know about you, but the stock shifter on the tC looks like the eiffel tower... just way too high.

that was for an is300 though...most TRD ones or brands who make short or quick shifters for the same car (such as TWM) are priced around $100-$200..TRD one for the matrix one is like $136 shipped brand new. My TWM short shifter for my 03 corolla was $90 used..about $150 new when it first came out.

I personally like long shifts. Then again, I'm used to it, with the Accord and all. I probably wouldn't get the short shifter, but thats just me.

A Short shifter is a def must, but TRD's SS I doubt will be too much of a difference compared to what the other manufacturer's ss' will be. Maybe its because everything they make can't void the factory warranty so it just ends up being nerfed a lil bit, but all of their products are modest, i.e. their springs have one of the lowest drops; their ss' on other cars have the least difference from stock, etc. And their price is always high, you always pay a good bit for the name. Not to say TRD is bad, but I don't think their tC short shifter is gonna be too drastic of a change, thats just my prediction based on their past products. My .02 cents.

Im kind of new with all this... but what is the difference between the stock shifter(or long shift) and a short shifter... what makes it better? Just feels cooler to shift fast?

shorter travel during shifts means less down time while changing gears, meaning that revs won't drop as much. it might sound all hokey like "why can't you just shift the stock one FASTER", but trust me it's not like that and i've felt the difference.
