Default Side Airbag Recall parts availability?

I think I'm getting jerked around by my dealer. It doesn't help that they are 45 minutes away. Anyway, I called over 2 weeks ago to schedule the recall work. A week and a half ahead of my apointment, the morning I get there they inform me they didn't order the parts until that morning. They should be here Tuesday. Well Tuesday came and went and no call, so I talk to Scion this morning. They tell me the dealer should have had the parts on hand, and if not shouldn't have had a problem getting them in a week and a half. The dealer returns my call today and informs me one of the parts is still on backorder. Anyone in the KY region that can verify this claim or point me to the regional Scion rep for this area so I can escalate this further?

sounds like your dealer doesn't have a clue with what they're doing. Might be a sign to take your car to another dealership! it's not that difficult to order parts.. duh!

It's all well and good if you don't have the parts or can't get the parts. But not ordering them for a week and a half and then not calling to let me know I was about to make a wasted trip over there? That's just pathetic.

I had a similar problem in Louisville. I went in last weekend and after they had the car for like 4 hours they realized that they didnt have all the parts for the recall. They told me to come back in 2-3 weeks. Your not alone on this one. Its a total inconvenience but just hang in there. I was only the second recall they had done so they were pretty clueless as well.

and then toyota wonders why they're on the bottom of the JD Powers dealer ratings list? With this kind of behavior it's easy to see why! ouch!

And mancide, you're right it IS pathetic! it's just parts, what's so difficult about pushing some buttons and hitting enter? or making a phone call? Guess customer service isn't something they teach at Toyota.. lol

I've just decided not to take mine in to get "fixed" as I'm not going twice, and I'm not going to get dicked around by them just to come back and have more problems than I came with.

The honeymoon is ending with Toyota - dealers just plain suck ___.
