I guess I felt what Mustangs and Civics and WRX's feel when a Volvo hangs right with them and most often pulls them.

That's a post from the link.

But dude... You're STILL driving a VULVO

Edit: Later in the thread, people are claiming the tC that passed him had a 'New TRD Supercharger' installed, and that was why it kept up with the Volvo...

They don't look too bad fixed up, though: http://www.pbase.com/dkauer744/impor..._june&page=all

yeah it is so obvios that these people are retarted...i mean the s/c isnt even out yet and they think that it was only because of the s/c that it was able to keep up...how about the fact that ur driving an old ___ volvo? hmmmmm some people just cant take the fact that they get beat

LMAO. Look at the guy with the yellow vulva. That forum is better than e-baums world. I laughed through that whole thread. Supercharger, NASSSSS, tinted window, "punched it at 40" LMAO. Too funny.

What kills me is, a rolling start doesn't really account to anything in the racing world.

Most cars can 'punch it' at 40, and keep up well with most other cars.

Unless you're driving a beater, if you can't move ahead a little in traffic while already rolling, you've got problems.

LOL, ever since i have been notified about this volvo forum, i have been intrigued to read their racing forum. These guys post stories about them beating M3's, Mclaren SLR's!!!!, etc. These guys are soooo full of crap its too funny. How does anyone in their right mind think that their stock vulvo with an air intakes and a chip can beat the McLaren SLR which is one of the fastest cars in the world doing a 0-60 in 3.8 secs? Dont they believe that if volvos could actually do this people would save some money and buy a vulvo for 30K rather than shell out more than 200K?

I've owned a few Volvos including two new ones over the last few years. Um Volvo guys are big boys.

I can tell you the Oldlady goes trolling for street fights in her two Volvo wagons (last one was red, this one is black), um she can lay some bad action smack down. I mean the Oldlady is eye candy, and getting smacked down by an oldlady in a Volvo gotta make your nads drop, more so when she's better looking then the foofoo that your packing around.

I'll toss some oldlady pics up when I setup my Scion TC site soon.

So in Austin boys gets smacked around by a black Volvo wagon with a hot HOT asian driving.... um its probably the oldlady and she's probably yacking on the cell too.

Last time I had her at the tacks she ripped off a 12.96 @ 108 with a .508 reaction time and a 1.97 60 ft time on street radials. So I don't expect too many TC boys are going to have the stuff to win in a throw down.

Thanks to those of you who complimented the effort the fellow volvo owners have put into their rides. To the rest of you who flamed people for trying to find an explanation as to how a scion tc kept up with my buddy Ben Time to grow up.

O well, to give the Scion's credit, I've chatted with the guy from Jamasco Engineering a few times, and seen him run at our local track. Truly impressive, especially on stock block Got to give him props. Truly nice guy, a class act, real car enthusiast. If only the rest of the owners were this willing to share the car enthusiasm and not be so quick to judge volvos.

FYI, that volvo that had the scion keep up with it has dynoed excess of 340 wheel torque on the stock turbo so that's why he was scratching his head when the other driver managed to keep up.

Furthermore, whoever said most of the cars are the same speed from 40 MPH, really needs to learn what trap speed means at the end of the 1/4 mile.

Hopefully whoever is flaming volvos or is over on the volvo forum trying to degrade fellow members will grow up.

Best of luck tuning these unique cars guys/girls

Obviously you can not understand the use of sarcasm, o well.

Furthermore, if you would like to see the video of me beating a modified E36 M3 (AA Package/Euro HFM kit) while nearly keeping up with an E46 M3 and leaving a modded STi trailing behind I'd be more than happy to link it over this way ... oh, and yes this was in myVolvo

I'd believe it, you can make anything fast with money and time, plus a Volvo would actually be a great sleeper car.

considering all I had then was a borrowed chip and $350 turbo with a hacked up stock exhaust (no cat or muffler) was all I needed to do a 101.5 trap when I dumped a couple gallons of 110 mixed with 93 in her. It's pretty cheap if you know what you're doing.

thats kinda funny that a stock tC kept up with 340whp volvo. and to anyone who thinks tCs are crap they should check out the 600 hp Nitto tC or maybe the video of a tc running 12.59 1/4

I am in no way ******* on the new Volvos. They're very nice looking cars. Older volvos are dependable, long-lasting, tanks of cars.

The Oldsmobile Alero, the Old Folk's Rice Rocket, could beat the pants off of most big engine cars easily, let alone just about any tC on this site.

The thing I find funny, however, is the mentality of any individual who thinks dropping an APC cone filter under your hood makes any model car an 'unbeatable steet machine.'

I have no problem with other makes of cars. Everyone should drive what they love to drive--or in the worst case, have to drive--and leave it at that, not what everyone else thinks.

It's the people who go around with an "If it's not my car it sucks" attitude that tend to irk me.

JHEIII850Turbo, I hope that post wasn't in response to my posts in the Volvo forum. I really don't see what started the 'flame war,' but I did not mean to react too harshly to anyone on that forum, but after the first few reactions to some information I threw out...

Like I said Volvo boys are big boys. I'm sure the Scion was on the bottle at the very least, and I' m also sure there are at least a few street turbo Scions out there.

I'm waiting for a SC as I like the Vortech setup, but if TRD keeps dragging butt, I may have to pop for the turbo. I got $2900 right now and every pay check the funny money supply gets a little bigger. I had the $4000.00 but I got rims tires, a set of rims and tires for AutoX too: Kumho V700 for Discount tire, god these are like glue and can take light street use too. um and many people say the scion TC is not way up there but mid pack on OEM handling, they should take a spin on a stock Scion with a good set of auto X tires. This thing ranks upthere with my MAX street / OK auto-x Setup VW or better. Show roon stock you can ONLY change dampers and tire but not rim size.

Why don't you just link it then?

I'd be interested to see it.
