Default So many options? So unsure? haha

i did a search, and kinda read what people thought about the security and the sound, i got 50/50 replies>?

based on everyone here, i have decided that the security system is way over priced, im going with a Viper, or CompuStar threw circuit city, 250 with window sensors and Everything, and that includes install!

Now my second issue. SOUND, im a little Confused? is the stock Cd player? as loud and clear as the 6 cd changer? or is it the same, untill u Add the subwoofer n stuff in the back? im thinking im prob gonna keep it Stock> as people have said it sounds good, my question to you is? is it loud enought when the windows are down and sunroof open?

Also> somone said to Switch it to XB? and it sounds ALOT louder?

im lost, can somone explain that to me? haha

The stock stereo's have a button that says SSP, if you press and hold the button it will pop up "Car type: tC". Use the volume buttons to change to xA or xB. Opinion is that these were intended by pioneer to be specially designed for each model, but they failed miserably with the tC. tC mode sounds muffled. xB has a bit more bass than xA mode. My personal preference is Car type: xA, SSP: Feel.

Difference between 1-disc and 6-disc: There are only two differences that I know of. First, the 6-disc holds more discs. Second, you can change the color of the display screen. I believe they sound identical.

Is the stock loud enough with windows down and roof open: If you up the volume to about 45 then yeah you can hear it okay at freeway speeds, but it's not perfect.

Switching to xB: Most head units have different settings, rock, classic, vocal, pop, etc. This one is setup per vehicle, xA, xB, tC. From what I can tell it looks like tC doesnt really do anything, so changing to xA or xB will change sound of the system, specifically making it louder. xB seems to sound the best but everyone has their own opinion.

Nuetral - Hear - Feel: This is another setting, like the xA, xB, tC one. I usually have this on 'Hear' but sometimes 'Feel' is in order.

The instructions on how to do all of these are in the Stereo User Manual.

As for the sub, I cannot help there for I have not hear this setup yet. I will say, however, that the stock setup seems quite good to me. Of course it could be much better, but for stock it's good.

I'm perfectly happy with the single disc Pioneer cd player that came standard with my tC. The six speakers are loud enough even with the windows down. But I am not a teen or twenty something out to impress strangers at every red light. The "Scion Sound Processing" allows you to choose between their pre-set sound profiles or settings which they call "feel" or "XB" etc.

Same here, xA, SSP:Feel Really a great sound for a stock system.

Well, I'm sure it's amazingly better than the Sunfire's, however it's only 4 speakers and 2 tweaters in the tC, not a true 6 speaker setup.
