Default someone hit my car.. help

yeahh.. well... someone backed up into my car... it was either a 2004 silver maxima or 1999 grey maxima. How do i know this you ask? Well besides the fact that i am just an amazing detective when it comes to people who hit my car, there are just some things that cant be a freakin COINICIDENCE...

ok.. so here comes hte detective work...

soo.. my car was parked where it says "my car was parked here" and the culprit was the grey maxima... or so i think.. i know the maxima was parked there because i had my mustang parked in the spot next to it...

so.. the maxima had to back out hitting my bumper and driving off.. i had silverish/grey paint on my car and the grey maxima had black paint/scratches all over hte passenger side rear bumper...

now.. i confronted the owner about this and he and she (husband and wife) just got really defensive about it.. they even we as far as saying that the dent was "always there on your car".

as soon as i asked if the maxima was theirs all they would say to me was "Yeah, but we didnt do anything"...

WHY THE HECK WOULD THEY SAY THAT?! the damage is only $300.00 but on a college budget, this is a fortune... i filed a police report, but the cops said if no one saw it, that they couldnt do anything baout it... crappy? i think so...

HELP WHAT CAN I DO?!

Damn. Theres really nothing you can do. I use to work for State Farm so I use to have cases like this all the time. If the police report only states one vehicle was involved then your pretty much assed out unless theres witness's. However, the only option you have is to set up a claim with your insurance, but its not even worth it b/c ur deductible is going to be higher then it actually costs to repair it. Just pay the $300 & take whoever did it to small claims court & show all your evidence there, try getting that $300 back!

Key their car. If they say you did it, just say the scratches were "already there on your car."

bad idea!! DO NOT KEY THE CAR!!! trust me!!!

my 05 tc was totaled in a hit and run accident march 11th... i bought an 07 tc march 29th... this morning my boyfriend broke up with me and decided to be a total jerk and keyed my car (like deep!!! metal showing!). Now he's denying it, but I reported it anyway.

I know that doesn't help any, it was just a little interesting that I have kinda the same problem (again) times 2! and yeah, I hear ya... my deductible to have the scratches fixed (since it has to be repainted) is $250 but it's gonna cost WAY more than that to fix...

it's really deep all the way down the driver's and passenger's sides... dirtbag!

btw, that's a nice way to escalate a situation into a physical confrontation.

If somebody pulled that crap here in Jersey, and you crossed the wrong person, they'd say "you were already in the intensive care unit"

Let Kharma handle it. Something bad is going to happen to them (if they are the one who did it).

I dont know. Is it worth the 300 to you? Its unfortunate that you have to pay for it, but atleast it wasnt anything worse, yanno? Dont try any revenge tatics b/c people are shiesty & some people dont care about their cars anyways, so they'll try doing somethin back to your car. Jus take it for what it is. I know it sucks, those people are

yeah, stuff like that sucks, get used to it. i just got done washing my car after it turned road salt grey from not being washed all winter, and it was so painful finding all the new scuffs and scratches that didn't rub away with the sponge. just do your best to part your car in places wehre people won't be backing up towards it and making sure you leave people room to move their car when they leave their space.

also, julz, you never posted pics in the gals and their tc thread, your overdue!
