i dont know if this was mentioned yet but, if you report it to the police, i think the police can do a paint match with the damaged area of both cars, but if you clean it off then yea.. nothing else to do
I was also involved in a hit and run, the cop said that if you can find a car with your paint on it, there is a possibility that a paint match can be performed or something

haha i tried that... cops said that if no one saw it, theyre not gonna go knocking on doors just because i think i know who it is.. while i was filing the claim, the officer didnt even put it down as a motor vehicle accident.. he filed it as a property damage claim... how crappy...

umm... yeah.. it was... some jerk ran a red light and took off the front end of my car and made me spin out into the intersection while he continued to drive off... luckily someone followed him and got the tag number and everything was taken care of
