Default Spark Plug Cover Stripped Inside????

What's going on? The bolt that holds that spark plug cap in place is stripped inside. Or is it inside or just the bolt that is stripped now I think about it? I guess I can try another bolt to see if that would fix it but does the inside where you drop the bolt in, would that get stripped also? Just curious because I'm tired of my spark plug cap lifting up. Thanks in advance.

It's been five days and no one has helped you. "Why?" you ask. Read your post. It's junk. And I'm pretty sure you're not using the term "spark plug cap" correctly because they don't have bolts. Figure out what you are really trying to say. Your post is horrible and does not make any sense whatsoever. All you say is "bolt, stripped, cap, bolt, stripped, cap, bolt, stripped, cap" Makes no sense.

Ay do you really need to respond back to someone like that out of nowhere? Do you feel any better for some dumb ___ remark like that? Honestly, I want to know what you're so agitated at of me asking a question my way that upset you so much? You would of been better off not even responding if you weren't going to help.

There is the part I'm talking about. It's stripped on the inside i found out. So is there any way to get this issue fixed? I'm unable to tighten the bolt down and everything is just loose. Thanks in advance.

Okay very cool. This is much better. I was agitated because your post was all sorts of messed up man. You weren't making a whole lot of sense and there was a lot of grammer issues and you were just unclear in general. Plus, you were miswording everything. What you meant to say is that the hole that you bolt into that holds down the coil pack is stripped out. That's all. Well what you can do is drill out that hole and clean up the insides completely, then use a tapping bit to retap a new hole, meaning, re thread a new hole and get a bolt that fits that thread type and size. As a temperary fix until you can do that, I don't have much for you. You can rig something to hold the coilpack down by running something across the top of the head and on top of the coilpack, but that's about it. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Ive ran into this before, due to the valve cover being aluminum and the bolt being steel, it tends to strip the threads relatively easily. Best way to fix it is to use a helicoil. Dont take this the wrong way, but from your original post this prob wouldnt be something Id recommend doing yourself. Just pull the valve cover and take it to a machine shop, or heck even some mechanics shops and they should helicoil it for $10-20. If you want to take it on yourself, the most basic setup you would need would include a drill bit, tap, helicoil insert tool, and the right size helicoil. For all that, if youre only going to use it once, its quite a bit cheaper to just have a shop do it.
