Default Spoiler Horror Story

So there I am commuting to work as I always do 5 days a week, and I hear something start slapping at my back window. 1/2 of my spoiler had came off and was relentlessly beating at the back glass of my car. I took it to the dealership and they said they could tell that it was a factory defect and that they would order me another one. So since I have to get to work they put me in a loaner YARIS which was scratched to hades and back...., the bastard stepchild of a Carolla if you ask me. I get a call later that evening and they say the spoiler they ordered is damaged as well and that I can either pick up my car and drive with four huge shiney bolts (which they said were inconspicuous) sticking out of the back side, or keep the Yaris for a week while the part comes in. Come on Toyota/Scion....ya'll can do better....

Keep the Yaris. No use risking water getting in the bolt cracks and rusting after they put the new one on. Did the spoiler scratch the paint? If so, are they repainting it all?

I'd keep the Yaris for now.

Hope everything works out...

I wouldn't want any dealer or shop keeping my car for a week, if most of that time is spent waiting for parts. For some reason, I just don't trust them to keep it safe.

I work at a dealership and usually cars just sit there and people talk about why they are still there and how long they have been there. Unless someone wants to steal something out of it they usually get left alone. I would make sure the holes are covered up though. Cause it may get wet whether or not you are driving it.

At least you can drive for miles in the Yaris on a tank of gas. I would love to get 40 mpg.

Bet the dealer would leave the car outside of their garages, so same thing.

Only spoiler issues i've had is the jacktards at the car wash leaning on it every freaking time they dry my car off. "Get off the f*$kin' spoiler asstard!" Needless to say, I wash my car by hand now...

Hmm, that's crazy! Never heard of anything like that happen before....... Hmmm, I'd let your dealership keep your car while and you drive the Yaris. I would notify them, though, that you want your car stored inside due to that rusting factor. Just my $.02
