Sponsorship, should we take it or not?
Just for an idea, when I start doing SCCA contingencies (well, once my tC is built up enough to start taking advantage of them), I'm concentrating stickers behind the doors on the bottom of the panel; that seems like the least awkward place for them, but it offers enough space to put a standard size contingency.
You call them and act like you are doing them the favor, and they will probably say thanks, but no thanks. Tell them you want the exterior of the cars to remain sticker free. Maybe they will be willing to let you put the stickers on a battle board, or wheel holders.

Yeah, that is true, but maybe their tCs would be better off without the stickers. I love the clean look. I cant imagine a sticker of any kind looking good unless it was accompanied by many sponors all lined up in similar color schemes.
You know, ghosting the logos might be neat.

Thats what this thread is about. They are trying to decide if the $600 discount on brakes is worth them putting 4 stickers on the car.
I suggested to ask Rotora to let them put it on a sponsors board, or wheel holders.
Others suggested that Rotora should be honored to have these cars using their brakes and should not ask for sticker recognition in exchange for a discount.
Seriously?

me, personally, id have a really thin plastic vinyl piece and stick hte sticker on htat and then stick that on my bumper and whatnot, and put it on whenever i have to go to shows and stuff.
just so i can get taht 600 dollar discount cuz....600 dolalrs to me is quite a bit of money. thas alot of FOOD.
but then again, my car isnt' built for shows...at all.

Don't ruin your own goals and looks you are going for just to get a discount that you could probably make up for. Get it to where the stickers are hidden, or less of an eye sore to the car, and then take it. If they don't like it, oh well. You'll still have your clean looking car and they will move on.
yeah, if i can, i will see if i can do the putting the decals on the piece of glass on a stand or something along those lines.
But, i think that we have decided on not getting the sponsorship, but we will still think about it.
I am going to go for a custom Brembo kit when the time comes for the BBK conversion.

I say no. I wouldn't put decals that are nearly a foot & foot and a half for a PARTIAL sponsorship. It's essentially buying out pieces of your car. The BBK's arent THAT expensive. I wouldn't sell that many huge parts of my car for $600. I have 14 sponsors at the moment (for the rebuild) & NONE of them are asking for that big of a decal. If you've gone this far without sponsorships, don't give it up for a mere $600...$600 is nothing when you guys have already spent $20k+.
