Default Stalling Problems

Hey guys my second car my 1993 honda civic lx (5 spd) is having some problems. I understand if you dont post because its a tc but if u can could u maybe point me in the right direction?

The car cranks up with no problems, and will remain that way. When I release the gas, like coming to a stop or just coasting, the car will begin to shake a little. It will either stall or stop shaking after a few seconds.

Check injectors, spark plugs, and throttle cable tension. All are good places to start

I bet if you just lightly press the gas you'd not stall? It's probably the idle air control valve/motor (IAC, for short). I would check your timing as well, but the IAC probably went bad. I've had it happen to other civics.

Its still stock other than an intake.

Yeah if i give it any gas at all its fine, its immediately after i release it that it chokes and decides whether it wants to stall or not. Thanks for suggestions.

yeah that definitely sounds like the idle air control motor/valve. Any honda civic repair manual will tell you how to diagnosis it and test it out. It's either checking the resistance of the motor, or using a vacuum gauge to test it. but, Chilton has a whole line of repair manuals, good stuff.
