Default Starting Issues

My car has been running fine no problems. Then i go out today and try to start and it does nothing. Lights and everything comes on. starter aint the issue b/c i just replaced i t not to long ago. I heared somewhere that the key might have something to do with it.

Anybody had this issue before?? Any possible solutions??

Auto or manual?

Have you tried using both keys to try and start the car?

My car has been starting oddly as well the past few months, and only on some occasions i get a sputtering at first crank like its going to stall.

Why did you have to replace the started? Also I'm sure this is a stupid comment but none the less you did have gas right? Because I had something like this happened to me a long time ago were I had about 2 gallons left but the light came on but I just got hom so I let my car sit over night the next day it didn't want to start. So I reset the ECU and it fired up fine. But that's just my two cents

unplug the battery and tap the positive and negative cables together and then plug it back in, that's what worked for me.

Whoa... I wouldn't go tapping the wires together unless you want to short something out or start blowing fuses. If you need to reset the ECU, just disconnect the negative and wait a minute or two. Connect it again. That's it.

As for not starting... there are a couple options.

First is to make sure you have the clutch pedal depressed completely to the floor. There is a sensor that needs to be pushed by doing this to allow the car to start.

You could also have someone try to jump you. But do you get any clicking sound or anything like that? It's possibly a dead battery, but I would hope you would have mentioned other symptoms if that were the case.

As for the key issue you're thinking of - if you are trying to start the car without a proper key, it will only turn over - not start up. All of our keys have transponders that send a signal to the car when the key is inserted that it is OK to start. So if it were a key issue, it would crank but not start.

Just because you replaced the starter recently, doesn't mean that it is to be excluded from the picture.
