Stupid Floor Mat Question
So I finally pull the trigger and get a tC on Saturday (five spd, silver, no options, $16,500, plus tt & L, total $17,720). The only option I intended on buying from the dealer was floor mats but the dealer didn't have any in stock. I can order them through the dealer or online, but I read a post where someone claimed their salesman said they were basically crap.
Do any of you that have the mats have an opinion on this? And if you didn't get the Scion mats, do you have a recommendation for a set to get?
Any advice would be appreciated.

The floor mats are pretty nice. We got the first tC that came in to the dealership and the mats actually have a heavy duty plastic piece on the rearmost part of the mat. There is a picture of them on the dealers parts catalog.

I don't own a Tc yet but have seen the set. The front 2 (driver and passenger) are carpet and allweather. During inclement weater just remove carpet insert and you have rubber mats. Nice touch in my opinion. I also understand that they only come in black no matter what color car you get. If you order through Scion you pay for 4 piece carpet set and a cargo mat (all for one price). No cargo liner in this accessory (sold separately) which I have not seen but is something I will probable get instead of the cargo mat.
I have looked at Partznet.com and they sell Scion carpet set (4 piece) separate from the cargo mat. They also sell the cargo liner as well.
Hope this helps somewhat.

The floor mats on the tC are wayyyyy better than those on the xB or xA. If you can wait a little bit for them, swing by a dealership that has a tC (good luck) and look at them. They are actually quite nice.
nice touch, yes, that is why i sprung for them. i wish i had saved my $145. they are, IMO, flimsy, and require way more work to "convert" than should be allowed. i say save your money and go get some custom mats.
Thanks for the information. I hadn't even thought about going to a different dealer to check them out (talk about being geeked about a car and not thinking straight). I was a little concerned about the removable carpet insert. While it is a great idea, I wasn't sure how well it would work in real life. I guess ultimately I'll have to actually see the set before I make up my mind. Still, any of you have recomendations on aftermarket mats just in case?
