My dad can do it, but he's gonna charge $100. straight out just because the windsheilds are hard as hell to tint. Plus its not state legal (in some states it is but not DE). =) Where did you get your windows tinted? He own's a tint shop here in DE. lol

Have fun trying to explain to the cops and your insurance why you have 5% tint all around and a tinted windshield god forbid you get into an accident.

Default tinted sunroof

If you live in Cali...don't tint the entire windshield..you are just asking to get pulled over...i've seen it done on alot of high end cars...it also reduces visibilty and fogs up easily/quickly. if you do tint it..i suggest you put the lightest film on...just a piece of advice.

I hope you all realize the windshield is already tinted from the factory. If you want additional tinting, get a quality pair of sunglasses.

Sorry, but tinting the windshield, especially to percentages like 5%, is just stupid and downright dangerous to other drivers on the road. If you're going to do something to your ride that'll only affect you, fine, you have that right... but anything that puts *me* at more risk is irresponsible.

ALRIGHTY, guess I got to clear some things up.... 1. I wear glasses for distance, so 5%tint is a requirement for me.... 2. I have a waiver from my eye doctor allowing me to have tint So I dont give 2 $hits about the law. no matter what % I want, I wont get in trouble from the cops....... 3. I didnt want to get 5% on the windshiled just smething like 35, or 20% nothing TOO dark but something to reduce glare.... 4. I cant wear sunglasses, or ill be blind when im driving cause i have to wear glasses to see far away. And Sheena I got my tint through cindy, Ive gone to her for awhile now, and shes pretty fair on the price. Shes tinted my whole families cars since day 1, PLUS I didnt know you then LOL

Hahaha it's ok. Although I've heard Cindy is pricey. ;) lol You could always get a 50% if you wanted something just for the heat, as far as glare 35% would be the next darkest. It's up to you.

I just had my 2 sunroofs done with 5% last week. I already notice a difference in temperature in the cabin, as well a lot less glare.

$60 with the 3M for that. Also had the back and rear quarters done with 35%. Keepin it legal in NJ!

Do you have some kind of condition in addition to not being able to see distance? I've got a -3.50 with astigmatism, and the only issue I've run into is not being able to use certain frames for prescription sunglasses due to the shape that the lenses have to be.

Not trying to be a jerk, but I've never heard of myopia necessitating dark tint. If it does, I'm going to get a permit to legally tint my side windows!

I got mine tinted. The tC is hotter than h3ll in the summer cause of all that glass, the extra tint on the roof helpped a lot.

Sides - 30%
Hatch - 20%
Roof - added 35%

Uhhhh I dont know what that means, But when I drove without tint, I got ALOT of headaches due to the sun and trying to see...When I got my tint, headach free now!!! Kudos!!! So whats the verdicty on the sunroof.....Good idea, or not a good Idea, id hate to do it and have it break! If I do it, im doing 5% to match the other windows, and winshield 35% for glare!!

All I'm getting at is that your near-sightedness does not make you need tint. Glasses do not act like light-gathering binoculars to make things brighter. It's too bad prescription sunglasses are so expensive!

To give you an idea of how dark 5% is on the sunroof, it looks kind of like 35% does from the outside of the car. You can actually look at the sun without squinting. I'd guess the actual light transmission is around 2%.

It does if the sunlight causes me to have serious headachs due to the glare and brightness of the sun, and since I cant wear sunglasses, tint is the only thing besides perscription sunglasses, which like you said are hella expensive!

The roof is already tinted ~25%-30% factory. To make them match with your other windows, you'd have to tint it 20%

You can buy shades that clip over the top of your regular glasses. I bought a pair for $20 at my optometrist’s office. Just avoid those cheapo ones at gas stations, they usually don’t fit right on all frames and will scratch up your lenses.

If you have trouble focusing light, then how’s your night vision? I know a lot of people with light sensitivity can’t see worth a darn at night, including myself.

I’m a firm believer in windshield tint being illegal. It’s useful during daylight, but is definitely dangerous at night. Just hope you never get into an accident at night. That “prescription” will get you out of an equipment violation, but that doesn’t mean that you won’t be found responsible for the accident.
