Default Sunroof Wind Leak

I've had my tC since June 04' and within the last few months the sunroof leaks more and more wind, no rain or anything just wind. It's getting to the point that I just need to take it in but if I can do it myself I'd much rather that. Anyone else having any problems like this one or know how I can fix it?

I'm sure someone is going to say to let Toyota do it but I really don't want to go back to the service center here since it kinda sucks. I never got my free tank of gas when I picked it up and the last oil change I had they pulled a nail out of my tire THEN came and told me that there was a nail in the tire so they took it out and it's definitely leaking which the guy followed with "Do you want us to fix it?" Hmmm, gee, lemme think about that one dips&!t..........and I'm off my soap box.

Yeah, I'ved had my whistling roof for a couple of month now, it just keeps getting lowder and lowder and it starts at about 55mph, no water leaks as well. I'm getting that looked at this friday at my dealer, hope they can fix it.

I have not heard about how to fix a wind noise, but I did have a customer that had a creaking sunroof. That was fixed by using a piece of felt under where the wind deflector comes down. I think it also reduced the wind noise as a side problem. She never complained about it, but I was told that it gave a better fit and reduced the noise and the creaking it was making. That might help the seal you get. I hope this helps you out some.

guys yall should check our weather stripping on the back of the sunroof... play with it and see if it is touching in the same places on each side with not space... if you crack open your roof just so it sit off the strip check and see if it has moved at all... look to see if it just came unglued and is pushed back... Mine just started to make noise but i played with a little bit and it seems to have gone away. but I haven't used glue to keep it in place... im sure i will soon. Tell me if that works

I hear you, if it wasn't raining I prob. try it, but that's not the only thing I'm going in for, I'm also going in for the loose shifter, the rear hatch rattle and the popping roof.

Just take it to another dealership then man.

Ask around here, I'm sure someone can help you find a better service center.

YOU DO NOT have to go to the dealership where you bought it!

If it takes a week, oh well.... right now I have alot of time on my hands and I want to take advantage of it, if they don't fix it, then I'll take it some where else. If nobody can fix it than I'll do it myself (with everybodys help of course).

if thats the only reason, dude you missed out; its really not that big of a deal, its going to get fixed if not by the dealer than by me. So what did you go with if you don't mind me asking.

It wasnt the only reason, I also decided to not get another two door coupe, Ive had too many of them already. Not to mention my 12 second hatch has given me enough speeding tickets. Thats why I went with the box, its completely opposite of every car ive owned.( 4 door, slow, funky) If im wrong about the glass, my bad. With my luck some jerk would've thrown a giant rock through it.

i've talked to scion corp and many toyota employees.

they say for the flaw in the roof was taht the support wasnt strong enought when the body flexes so the roof constantly gets loose.

im talkin from experience because i usually com in once a month to get the TSB on my sunroof done. it bugs me to much that wind hissin noise.

cool.. i started a post on this topic awhile back. the whistling noise is driving me insane, and I have not had a chance yet to take the car in to the dealer. here's the original post https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...439&highlight=

So are you all saying there's no way to really have this problem fixed? That's inexcuseable.. if they can't make a damn sunroof right then don't put it on the car.. RRRRRR. this is so frustrating. has anyone had any luck in getting this problem taken care of???

Luckily I do not have the whistling noise from the sunroof. But I did get the TSB done months ago on the creaking sunroof. Not sure if the two are related.

Wait wtf?? Cool! How/what did you do exactly?? Maybe posting a detailed description or including some pictures may help.. if I could nip this in the bud myself and not have to take it to the dealer and waste all that time that would be great!!

Is this the weatherstripping - between the windshield and the wind deflector?

Can someone else check if this piece sticks up for them as well? Mine sticks up like 1/4-1/2" from the glass. I've tried jamming back down so that it's flush with the glass but to no avail. Here's a pic:
