Default Supercharger

When is the supercharger coming for the TC? I heard something about 3 stages? Does anyone know anything about this?

There was a guy at one of the mnsc meets. He had his tC, and had orderd the turbo. He said there was still no word on when the turbo charger would be in, even though he had already paid for it

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I dont think there will be a super charger.

So I was at ScionNight today and I talked to a TRD guy there. They had a tc with the supercharger (see pic). He told me it was coming out early next year! They were having problems with CARB or something. He said it would have 200hp at the crank and cost around $3,000 (not installed). I don't know how informed this guy was but hey, he works for TRD. Oh, and if any of you are interested in what ScionNight was, take a look at the NorCal forum.

so many roumors and so little facts. TRD initially said November 2004, and hp around 200 or more. People that drove TRD SC tC said it felt like a lot more.

Nevertheless, nobody knows and I wouldnt trust anyone. When we see it on their site/press release and see the dyno sheet, they we will be sure...

Yeah, if it's only 200 crank hp I'm not wasting my money on a tC.

I did hear somewhere (not bothering to find it) that the TRD SC will have a (around) 260-270 HP at the wheels...

That's stage 3...SC, Intercooler, Pistons Rods n ____...

that's a lot of HP for that car...

LOL, well for me it is if it comes out early next year forget the tC. I will just get something else, I can't wait this damn long for the power I want with the price I like. F@ck, looks like my option 2 is going to be in my driveway real soon.

Supercharger...

Turbocharger...

Both have their benifits...with Supers, you have no lag, and instant power...but not as much HP gain as a turbo...

with turbos, you get more HP, but lag with it...so it takes less time to get the power, but in the end you get more than a super...

ehh...depends on your choice really...

the first stage will cost 2700 to install. Trd is coming out will parts that will total 300hp. Durability is the biggest problem with turbos. I don't need that much power. 300hp is enough for me.

go under parts section of scionlife, you will find that price there. As for the 300hp lots of different sources say the same thing

Umm.. Since when did a staged car upgrade include major engine surgery?? Please don't post things that make no sense. There's no way Scion will release a factory backed Supercharger that will double horsepower output..

I have no love for TRD, Toyota owners know that the only thing they produce in house is clothes.. everything else is rebadged. But I do look forward to the SC. Factory installed parts that add 40hp is great, Toyota's getting some ***** back.

Ah yes, but seeing you have only one post I will assume something. You have not read much of the board. The last the 3 stages S/C was talked about, most said only stage 1 would be covered by warranty. If you go stage 2 or 3 kiss your powertrain warranty good by.
