Default Sway vs. Strut

Ok suspension folks - as far as I know, there are three "bars" that you can get on the tC from the dealer. There is the front upper sway bar (hotchkis), and then there are TRD upper and lower rear strut bars. Can someone tell me the plusses and minuses of each? From what I know, the front sway bar stiffens the body, but might not make much difference because of the distance between the firewall and the strut towers. If it did stiffen it up, what would this help? Body roll? Anyone?

FYI - The Hotchkis front strut bar is a brace that bolts between the strut towers in the front. The TRD rear sway bar goes under the car and attaches to the suspension. I know of no third bar that you're mentioning. Strut bars and sway bars have virtually nothing in common. Sway bars are real suspension components, where a millimeter or two of thickness can change your handling considerably. Strut bars/braces just serve to stiffen the body struture, and on many modern cars that are stiff to begin with, they do very little.

Yes, it has been discussed before. Search.

Thanks man - that's exactly what I was looking for. I'm still undecided, but at least I've read a bit more now.
