Hello All,

Was wondering what color to paint the TC caliper. Could someone please help me fix this poor attempt at photoshop. I didnt know what to adjust to make it appear natural. Please tell me which color is better.

if you do paint, you best keep it clean. it looks like **** when people's red calipers are covered in brake dust

 

I would do red or black... and yeah, keep them clean if you paint them.

 

I have em painted red on my sliver streak mica. It looks nice.

 

i was thinking of doing it too....is it hard to do and do i have to take of the calipers off to paint it??? How long does it take to do all four??

 

Not yellow, please not yellow. A deeper red might go well with bcp. or hot pink.

You have to take off the wheels and cover the brake discs to prevent paint from getting onto it. paint for a set of 4 calipers sells for about $20 at strauss or pep boys.

 

Hey, go to kragens and but the red caliper paint kit. that is one of the best and easiest caliper paint to use!!!

red looks nice, just keep it clean. i painted the calipers on my maxima with duplicolor 1200* paint and clear coat.. it turned out nice because i took the calipers off to paint. but a few months later i tried to clean it with break cleaner and it tried to eat into the clear coat.

 

Good Lord, as long as you don't paint them that bright, I'm sure it will look great.

I think red calipers are pretty much like black rims with a chromed lip, IMO they look good on almost any color car.

They have kits at walmart for 15 bucks. It's paint on, not spray on, so you don't have to remove anything but the wheel. Probably took me 3 hours total. Do a coat, let it dry, repeat... about 3 coats per caliper.

 

You guys dont like the yellow huh? Looks bad? Just wanted to liik different but didnt want to be the wierd one.. lol...

i actually painted mine red just now.... looks real nice i think and it was cheap bought the kit for $15 at walmart (caliper cleaner, more then enough paint, lil paint brush and masking tape which is not need if u have some coordination) .... ill try to have pix for u lata on tonight

I like a deep royal blue on an SSM tC. I could see it.

 

Some one mentioned clear coat. Where can I get it?

Good brand caliper paints please. I only know of dupli color. Any others that are good and cheap? Will check out walmart today or tomorrow.

hey, go to kragens and buy red caliper paint. i thing yellow looks pretty ___. make sure u buy the caliper paint kit, because the other paints might not withstand the heat. the make is by dupli-color. it is paint with ceramic to withstand the heat.

 

hi... I have a question as to what to paint.. I know.. i am stupid like that..

When I removed the wheels, I saw the brake disk and the caliper. For those who attempted at this please help. Please keep flames to a minimum. I am new at this.

I saw there are 2 parts to the caliper:

1. the bottom part,
2. the top part.

The bottom part is close to the disc and the top sits on the bottom part. Do I paint both of these? Or whould it lead to problems?

Could anyone please direct me to the right way to do this please. Greatly appreciate your help.
